Hey, I just got a 97 f3 for my first bike because I really wanted something that I wouldn't think twice about when tinkering. I did the same with cars on a 78 Nova... I love learning the hard way :). So anyway... my question is how do you think a all or mostly primer black f3 would look? and also the bike will only be that color til winter when I can't ride it and I do more of a professional job so I'm kinda wondering whether I should just use primer or go the extra step and actually paint it with a flat black paint. Hopefully I'll find time to photoshop a f3 to see what its like but I still like to get input from lots of people. Thanks

I have seen a few flat balck f3, and they look pretty sweet. I like the "mad max" look, plus if its your first bike you will probably drop it, so no fanciness right away anyway right?

If you ride in the wet...I would not paint it...it will eventually just run into your rims....chain...just a mess. If you are Mad Max though only when it's dry... I still wouldn't do it...

you can always put a low gloss clear over it, even flat black has a very slight gloss. that would seal it up. I used some flat black auto paint on my gas cap and it turned out great, the paint didn't come off even after a slight run in with a little gas, though i did clean it up fast.
