hey all dosent look like theres much but is there anything that can be done to the hurricanes like 96 for more power? besides a diet

what was the power drop from earlier canes? can older cams be used in 93+ ive heard they have a more aggresive profile.

ignition advancer? speed holes? j/k pretty much anything besides boreing it out/ hi compression piston's

The older canes were a smigin more powerful. But really all they did was spread the power out more in the midrange in the newer models at the expense of peak power.

Do you want more power or to go faster?

IF you want more power then you can put in the hotter cams from the earlier models and carbies, K&N, Jet Kits, Exhaust etc.

BUT If you want to be faster then spend ya money on Advanced Riding Courses. A Full Day Advanced riding Course will have you going faster (and safer) then spending $$$ on cams etc. Might even save ya life too.

All years of the CBR1000F have 97 kw (132 bhp) in stock settings. In Sweden they were restricted to 74 kw (100 bhp) and in England (I think...?!?) they were restricted to 92 kw (125 bhp). Other markets may have their own restrictions.
The restriction (in Sweden) was a "rubber ring" inside the intake rubber to make it more narrow. It was easy to remove to get the claimed full power.
The number 135 bhp (99 kw) people say in some years is not correct. 132 bhp (97 kw) is the true number given from Honda factory.

mines a uk model,rated at 132.dont recall any uk bhp limits imposed apart from top speed and it doesnt reach that .
adding larger bore downpipes and having ports cleaned out n carbs tweaked seems to have had quite an effect on mine tho it also chews thru chain/sprockets and tyres now ,ive noticed, and mpg is deffo down.
as with everything 130+bhp is still good power even today and if it feels slow its cos your used to it, a rider course will have u going faster in no time.or sum redbull mebbe.
other than that mebbe time for a racier bike,my latest "iwantoneofthose" is a sp1 vfr thingy ive seen.lol.

The most simple mod is to jack up the seat and drive XX Blackbird under it......

i found some racing cams they used in drag racing the hurricane, they dyno'd out at 153hp the bike is just smokin fast. i'll see if i can find out where the shop found them at.

All these power HP number that you guys are giving out, are the crank or wheel numbers? When I had my bike dynoed in Daytona last year, it came out to 100hp and 59 lbs ft at the wheel
