I wanted my hotbodies flushmounts to act as running lights as well as blinkers. So I played around with the wiring for a while and came up with this method. I wired up my 06' and my brothers 05' this exact way and it worked perfectly. I didn't show it in the diagram but You also need to wire in resistors for this to work! It gives you a little faster blink rate than stock, but IMO it looks better. Any questions just post here or PM me.

Nice work.  It's good to see others working on/posting info on this.

Another diagram of the same thing brought in from an older post: http://www.cbrforum.com/m_129799/tm.htm

What level resistors are you running?

this set up will work with all aftermarket mounts that only have two wires coming from them (blinker and ground).  It wont have any effect on your back running lights

im confused by what you mean when you say, " it wont have any effect on your back running lights."  so it should work fine if I do this with the short stalk LEDs on the rear or no?   thanx for the help/clarification

Yes it should work with your short stalk if they only have 2 wires coming from them (ground & blinker)

Looked at the way you wired the indicators. \one question though: when the running lights are on will the indicators blink???
It looks like the blinkers will just stay on if you have them on as running lights and blinkers at the same time.
May be im wrong...
Cheers

could someone explain better how this actually works? i know how to do it, but it seems like the light would just stay on all the time since its constantly getting a +12v from the running lights....... anyone know why the +12v from the turn signal lead makes the light turn off? thanks.

I just bought running light modulators from Watsen design that are made specifically for Honda's. Takes out the guess work and they don't get hot.

Used them on my new Rizoma's.......and the modulators work great.

I believe once you turn the signal on, the relay cuts the power from the running light wire. (my theory anyway)

well, that comment just helped me realize how it works. i just checked out my bike somemore, and that is what it does. the running lights give it a constant 12 volts. then, as soon as you turn the turn signal on, it completely cuts the running light until you press the turn signal switch to stop the signal. then, the turn signal relay just does its job of turning the light on and off. thanks for helping me realize that!
