It's aesthetically unbalanced by this tiny tail section and oversized exhaust. But at least the swingarm, rotor inners, calipers and forks finally match the frame. In another five years they'll take care of the levers, rearsets and passenger pegs...

I think their sales numbers are going to tank on this bike. I am a prime example of a customer shopping for a new bike, and I am hunting for a good deal on a 2007. I really wish I could like  the '08 enough. CBRinPDX pointed out exactly what I hate.

Use your imagination and think of it looking longer.... That a bad picture. I think they did really well all except for the color schemes. (black on black looks awesome)

honda really gone n fudged up on the 08.. i hate the exhaust, i dislike the front its too round n shoerter then the 07.. kwasaki took off the undertail exhaust on their 08 aswell.. i think for 08 the only bike i would go with is the r1...luckily i bought an 07 cbr 1k :)

I have to disagree with you on that, I think they did a good job on it. And 178hp, 410lbs WET!!

The new bike is badass! It looks like a MotoGP bike....don't you guys see that? I thought it was like 435 wet weight? I'm hoping to see at least 160rwhp for a stocker.

Just found a pretty good Laguna Seca test ride article on the new 08'.   Sounds like it performed well.  It has a photo gallery also

Thanks Bishop. This is what makes me frustrated. It sounds like the '08 is better in every way but looks. Smoother power delivery, better power all the way through the range, new throttle tech which cuts out drive lash and the need for really careful modulation, slipper clutch, etc, etc.  It may even have a more street friendly riding position.

It bugs me because I like the 07 for looks, but in buying that I clearly buy an inferior machine - however better it looks I now feel like I'm stupid to get it. I almost feel like I should yet again skip anther year and wait until the 08 looks better than it does...sigh.

I want this bike! I'm actually very excited with the new 1000RR... Honda really did there homework on this one it looks like. Looks are secondary on a sportbike, performance is always top priority.
