this is the kind of traffic that you'll see everyday in my town:

*pictures courtesy of www.picturescolourlibrary.co.uk and www.epa.gov

on mornings, afternoons (during lunch hours and end-of-school-hours), and evenings, it can get 2 or 3 times even worse than that.

imagine riding a 600 in that kind of elbow-to-elbow-traffic?
oh, not to mention that the air temperature gets around 86 degree F middays. even when the sun is not-so-bright.

yup, there were actually a few other bikes at the track... there was R1, R6, CBR 1000RR, 600 and 750 Gixer, Duc 748, 1098, and 999 as well... also some other smaller bikes, 150-200cc's... didn't take pictures of them though...

I'm with the fellas who say that the tires are a bit thin and the ride height is on up there. But I bet it's fun as hell to ride, being so light. I bet one guy could lift that thing.

Tops out around 100 MPH?  With 21 HP?  I'm not sure I believe that.  Ninja 250s have 34 HP at the crank and top out at a real (not indicated) 105-110 with an average weight (160 lb) rider.

How much does it weigh?

One hundred percent better than a moped/scooter though.  Definitely got that baby CBR look.

EDIT:  Did some research -- I guess it weighs in at about 250 lbs dry.  Most people report that they can get it to an indicated 150-160 KPH which is 90-100 MPH indicated.  Weghing 70 pounds less than the Ninja 250 helps there I guess.

slick little rig man! I like it. I want a little 125 or something for ripping around town on. But for now I'll stick with my sixer's.

Went to pick up a few parts for my '88 600f project last week and was surprised to see this model on the shop floor at the local Honda Motorcycle Dealer here in Montreal, Canada. They had 3 of them, one black, one white and one red. It was priced at $3495 CDN (about the equivalent in $US).

Sweet little thing, except for the tire size. Looking at it from the back, it kinda makes you wonder why the pedals are missing :P Nevertheless, I'm sure it's a lot of fun.

I really don't see why Honda wouldn't sell the 150R in the States. The market down there is a lot bigger than it is up here

@ O lively:
indeed it is really light, weighting only 250lbs, quite easy to flick the bike side-to-side when changing lanes :D

@ Ninjaharhar:
yep right, the bike weights around 250lbs, with me (165lbs) on board and wide tires (Bridgestone Battlax BT45 100/80 F & 130/70 R), I managed to do 105mph... if I were lighter by, say, around 35-45lbs and had fitted the bike with less wider tires (about 90/80 F & 110/80 or 120/70 R), I guess it is possible to go around 110mph, providing the straight is long enough...

@ dalex:
really? there was a white one?
is it possible to get a picture of it?
because AFAIK, officially, there are no white CBR 150's from the factory... color choices are limited to red, black, and blue (models from previous years also had grey, orange, yellow, silver, maroon, dark blue, and Repsol paint scheme)... in here, there are some white 150's though, custom-painted by the owners...

Looks really nice! But damn, those tires are small! 120 back? I got a 130 front, 180 back on my CBR600

stock tires are 80/90 front & 100/80 rear. if changing to wider tires, the most suitable size (ie. not altering the bike's flickability, handling, acceleration, etc.) would be 90/80 front & 120/70 rear. although actually the front would accept either 100/80 (like mine) or 110/70, and the rear can go as wide as 130/70 (though with brand-new tight chain, there's only a few millimetres of space between the tire and rear shock)... any wider than 130 and it'll rub the swingarm.

i've seen 180's on my friends' 600RR & 1000RR Fireblade... wonder if I can swap the whole rear wheel assembly (Pro Arm, wheel, tires, etc) to my bike...

Yup, factory WHITE! They didn't have a blue one though. The dealer is really not in my usual commuting path so I'm not sure when I'll pass by the next time. If they still have them on the floor, I'll try to snap a picture and post it here, but for now, I don't have any.
