I need some input on which frame sliders to get for the bike. I have looked at so many, I am over-whelmed on which to go for. I am wanting the best, and color is not really a problem for me. I just need black. I've read to get some that have replacable ends, and not get all aluminum/metal ones. Easy installation would be a plus, but it looks like no matter what I have to go through the faring. Thanks for the input.

Jake

Ebay has a ton im on my third set my first set was black, but due to the custom paint i wanted something nicer then black so I went with polished aluminum, then on ebay I saw a nice set of chrome ones so i took mine off and gave them to a buddy and got the chrome. MAKE sure you get metal tho

I've got a 2004 F4i, and I know it's not what your asking, but I'm sure you would have to cut the plastics for sliders. They make bolt ons (Lightening Performance) and that is what I put on my bike.

i believe the problem with metal frame sliders that it catched on the road and could put the bike into a tumble which would cause more damage. remember the frame sliders are there for one reason-protect the frame. it'll help your plastics a bit but essentially they are made to protect the frame. no way to get around cutting through the plastics since you ahve to attach it to an engine mount. take the fairing off and put some white paint/fluid on the head of the bolt that you intend on attaching the slider to, put the fairing back on. take it off and now you've got a starting point as the white paint will now be on the foam. drill a pilot hole to make sure its in the right spot, put some painters/masking tape around the area and use a hole saw. thats how we did mine, took all of about 20 minutes.
