It's not always the bike, it's mostly rider, in most cases. The problem may be with shift times for him (too early most likley). I find when I race against my bro's 94 900rr, I will get eaten up if I shift even 500-1000 rpm too early. I ride the 96 900rr. If I am on point, we're neck and neck, but most cases he is left hanging back a bit, and I would have to say for the same reasons. Stat wise my bike blows his out of the water with the exception of the 1/4 mile, by like 2 tenths of a second, but I have better top end. So I wouldn't say it's because he "sucks", it may be that he's trying to match shifty points, which is a bad mistake.

My riding buddy and I have done extensive comparing of our bikes, His 01 GSXR600, mine 06 ZX6R 636. And from a 40mph roll in Second to 120mph I win by about two or three bike lengths. Then one time for kicks we switched bikes, and He would take me by about 10 to 15 bike lengths. I am about 15lbs heavier but He also does clutchless shifting and I think just has a better feel for when to shift. I still smoke Him Though on any bike in the turns. It's the rider....
