Get the liter bike.  600s are cool but 1000s are better.  Bigger more room and faster.

are you kidding me?!?!?!?!?!
im not disowning my own bike but i would have loved to have gotten a 600rr instead of my 1000. granted the 1000 is faster in a straight line, but the 600 will run circles around its bigger brother in the corners and if you really know how to ride a 600 class sportbike then you know full and well that you can never out ride it so yeah i have to disagree with you there.....

I kinda agree with you here bro. Maybe it's just me or something but when I had my sixxer, it was easier for me to take the corners. I know we're going to hear it's all on the rider but i've noticed that it takes me a lil bit more effort on taking corners with my Liter than my old sixxer. But hey, I love my Liter. Everytime I grab a smoke, all I do is just stare at her..seriously................

I ride constantly, I ride to work (5 miles) I take the long way home (50 Miles) I ride after dinner, I ride whenever anybody calls me and wants to ride regardless of what Im doing.  I ride with tons of bikes with tons of different skill sets.

There are some Very good 600 riders in my groups but the ONLY time any of them go away from me is downhill hard twisties and even then its only a couple corners up.

Uphill or flat grount I can come out of a corner and just blast past the 600's.  I would say that on a Very tight road (20-30 MPH Corners Only) a 600 would have an advantage but on my favorite road of 110 corners over 8 miles with many 20/30/and one @ 40mph I have NEVER been beaten to the top, usually even the best 600's are a few corners back.  I dont have to shift for the elevation, or out of corners for a small straight to get the best out of my bike they all have to.

Here's what it comes down to, if you like to ride your bike like you stole it every time you ride get a 600.
If you like to ride incredibly fast without riding like you stole it get a 1000.

If you want to be mental once in a while and feel what a 1000 can do when you ride it like you stole it, you can!  When your front wheel powers up easily doing 120 and when you shift a little hard from 2nd to 3rd and it comes up about 2 feet going 130, you reconsider driving your 1000 like you stole it.

Life = 600
Life a lot faster for a little less time = 1000

I have an 06 1kRR and have riding the 04 600 RR many times. The 04 600 is a great bike for turns and hiding hard and fast. My 1kRR takes alot more to handle when I try to ride it that hard. As for wheelies...... The 6 isn't smooth to bring up unless you get it geared!! The 1kRR is smooth in ever gear to bring up 1 - 3 and shifts smoother while on one wheel. But you really need to know how to ride your bike
I havent ridin the 06-07 600RR yet so I dont know anything about em!

600 = Easy 2 Throw Around (If "geared" Very Fun to Wheelie)
1000 = Bigger (More Comfort) Faster (More Power) Smoother Wheelies (No Need to Gear it) LOOKS BETTER (I think!)

And I thought that I was the only one who did this!!  I will agree though, I won't give up my 1k but my buddey is in Iraq and left his 600 with me to "take care of" Every time I ride it I'm amazed at how easy it is to throw around and dissapointed at it's power.... maby If I got some magniesum rims......hmmmmm

Yep, after moving from an 06 F4i up to the 1000RR, it's tough to get used to. It's definately harder to corner with. I'm not trying to be a super track star by any means, but I feel like I'm fighting it whereas the 600 seemed to turn in effortlessly.
I'd like to add a 600 to go with the 1000RR, man, that'd be sweeeeet! My wallet doesn't think so though.

With enough money you can get a 600 to smoke a 1000 on the straights and in corners, but you will be right back to losing corner ability. Because of the power you will have. It will become hard to gas it right so the damn thing will lay down and turn!

Disagree all you want.  I prefer my cbr1000rr over my r6.  Yes the 600 is lighter and perhaps more flickable or easier to toss around but my cbr1000 is just as good in corners.  Yes its a little heavier but you just have to know how  to ride it, like you said.  Have you seen the video of the guys on a goldwing tearing up the track?

The liter bikes are more comfy especially if you are over 5'8.  The liter bikes are easier to ride in traffic.   Less gear shifting, smoother gear shifting.  Maybe its the difference between a honda and yamaha but most people who move up to the liter bikes and know how to ride, usually never look back to a 600.

If money is a concern then yeah go with a 600.  If you go to the track and like to drag your knees, go with a 600.  Traffic, city riding and occasional track I would go with a liter bike.  If you get a 600 then spend money to mod it to be able to keep up with a 1000, then you might as well just get a liter bike.

i dunno why i feel different, but my first bike was a 2004 f4i and after 10 months or so and doing a -1+2 gearing change i just got bored with the f4i. the next month i traded it in on a 06 1000rr and to me it fel like it was easier to handle and weight didnt seem all to different. loved the power and wheelies made it feel like i was on my geared f4i so needless to say if you can get a good deal on a 06 1krr then get it, if you dont then i believe you will regret it

the F4i is not a 600RR it is considered a sport tour not a race bike!

For me the 1000RR takes the cake. I rode the 06 1000RR then the 06 600RR back to back. Then I got to ride the 1000RR again I did not want to get off of the 1000  Im telling you for me the difference was totaly different bikes, not even remotely close.

First ride first impression. The 06 1000RR, feels good, the size is nice not to small, ballance is nice. Alright here we go, responds well to the R-wrist front will come up on demand if I want it to. Swerves to the L & R nice. Could I flick it like a buger? I beleive I could. Corners like I want it to. It feels solid even at moderate speeds with less than warm tires. Very streetable. Very fun. I felt like the bike was one with me. Very predictable.

Second ride first impression. The 06 600RR, smaller but not to small. I a bit big for it though. Lets go for a ride and see. Well its got a long way to climb in the RPM's before the power is their and I notice the torqe is not the same. Swerve L & R, ok smooth too smooth. I cant realy cant feel the tire contact to the road. Not as tight as the 1000RR felt and definitly not as torqy. Im not impressed with it for a street bike. Maybe its better on a track? Although I would already feel more in control with the 1000RR. I cant weight to get back maybe I can ride the 1000RR again.

Well I get back and get to ride the 1000RR again. YES this is the bike I want, and I can tell it wants me too. Sappy soap apra music,...... Cut off cold by AC/DC Hells Bells. Now the feeling comes over me like God gave me this power for a reason, and that reason was not to give it up.

What is the dry weight of a 600? The 1000 is 388lbs. I cant see there being that big of a diff.

dry weight is just a number
the internals (crank, block, etc) of a 1000rr are way heavier than a 600 ... add to that, the simple property of inertia and you'll know why its harder to carve twisties on a liter-size instead of a mid-size

I don't know about the 600 CBR, but as far as the 1000 goes, it was designed NOT to be wheelie proned. If you're interested in doing wheelies, I believe there are better tools for the job.

Were u smokin when u typed this?  The 1000 has all the torgue u will ever need to get her front end up.  No bike was ever really made with stunting involved but that doesnt mean that some are easier than others.  U can do anything on this bike that u could do on a 600,
