Im sorry if you have heard this question 100 times before but I have searched back to December 06 on this forum and can not find an answer for this specific question.  I want to put a slip on exhaust on my new 06 1000rr either Akra or Two Bros.  But I noticed if I do this i will be eliminating a cable operated valve or flap attached to the stock system under the seat, what is it?  is it Honda's version of a EXUP or is it an emissions thing? will it hurt performance (bottom end, midrange)?, do I need a power commander?  Thanks in advance for your help, sorry for the newb question.  Frosty.

I don't have a slip on on mine, but I think that valve is to regulate flow for optimum low end power. Nothing emissions related, but the cat is part of the muffler itself so that will disappear.
