i have a 98 cbr900RR and i want to learn to wheelie like crazy..... i can pull out of a redlight and get the rpms up, dump it, and get back on it and ride out through 3rd.. BUT i can't get the feel for clutching wheelies in like second and especially not third.... any tips to help me clutch wheelies, so i can do the high speed wheelies with my buddies that do it???

The best tip that I heard in which to ride wheelies...
Take it in secod gear to a middle range in RMP's, accelerate moderately (not wide open, but a good amount of thottle) and WHILE ACCELERATING pull the clutch in quickly and release (for less than second.)
So, I would go about 40, gas it and while keeping the trottle open, hit the clutch breifly. This whould bring the front up smoother that dumping the clutch from a stop.
On my 97 900RR, I would go about 30 in 1st, realease the gas and then accelarate. This would sort of bounce the front end and bring it up.
BTW - I think it is impressive that you can go from a stop to third gear on one wheel... I can't!

never do that, thats asking for a loop
learn to clutch it, get on stuntlife.com and search for clutching methods, its more predicatable and you can get that shit down better, **** bouncing i hate that shit it always throws me off balance, if my 600 can be clutched up without a bounce so can your 900, a 1st gear power wheelie is askin for it, just my opinion tho, do what ya do killla

well i rode a lil today, and worked some on clutchin.... my bike seems like if i don't lean back or bounce it, it just wants to blow the tire off when i rev, and dump in second.... i have one question though......... i bought the bike off of a guy who was about 300 lbs. i'm 180, and the ass end is really stiff.. would it make it easier to do this shit, if i softened up the suspension???

the tire is probably just cold, that or you just havent got your clutching down yet, practice. beware: wheelies are like herion nicotine and crack

is it better to slip the clutch to come up or dump it?

Slip the clutch. The time you dump it and the front end comes up a lot quicker then you planned it, youll see why.

will loosening up the rear suspension help me any? i bought the bike from a fatass, and it is stif as shit!!
