Hey my front tire has some small splitting happening I wondering why it is doing this and if it needs replacing. Also how long should your front tire last you? I am an everyday rider so that you wear it out more I would think Anthony

Little cracks in the grooves of the tread...? Its age (with age comes UV and ozone damage). This is normal. Tires are generally good for 5 years. Look on the side wall of the tire for a 4 digit number...like 1202 - that would mean the 12th week of 2002. If you are just using it for commuting, its probably fine....but as it ages it gets less soft and has less grip....so put it on your list of things to possibly replace. Sport bike front tires last around 7-9000 miles...by that point usually they are feathered or worn enough to warrant replacement.
