I know you can tune engine for spec. mods and such But what else can you do with POW COM.Can you plug in laptop and monitor engine activity and manually remap ECU? timing/air fuel. or is it just presets I also know you can adjust RICH/Lean . how do you know what is optimal with no DYNO? Is it worth 3 to 4 hundred for this mod and is the HP increase significant. ANY FLAWS? BUGS? Defects? THANKS

Here are the feautures of the PCR III USB (which is the one that a 929 uses..) FEATURES INCLUDE Hassle free communication with new USB support The new Power Commander USB will instantly and automatically connect to the Power Commander Control Center software once it is installed. Simply "power up" the unit and connect the supplied USB cable to the computer and PCIII USB. Automatic map retrieval upon connection As soon as you connect the PCIII USB to the computer and launch the software, the map installed in the PCIII USB will be displayed. Onboard notes storage The PCIII USB stores the notes from the map in the onboard memory. This makes it easy to see exactly which map is loaded. The notes, just as the map itself, are automatically retrieved upon connecting to the unit. Individual cylinder adjustment All PCIII USB units have a "cylinder trim" adjustment feature that allows you to "offset" fuel to one or more cylinders. Additionally, for advanced users, the PCIII USB allows individual cylinder mapping. Now each cylinder can be mapped individually throughout the entire rpm/throttle position range. Enhanced "file compare" utility The PCIII USB software now allows you to compare two map files without the Power Commander connected. There is a numerical display as well as a brand new graphical display. Easier to use "button adjustment" mode The button adjustment has been made easier by introducing a "startup delay". This lets the user have enough time to start the bike and then switch the PCIII USB into "button adjust" mode. The ranges of the buttons are now displayed in the software. Simply connect the unit to the computer and press one of the buttons. Their ranges are shown on the screen. "Expansion port" for future upgrades and accessories The "expansion port" allows easy connection of upcoming accessories such as our new ignition module. 9V "Power Up" adapter Every PCIII USB comes with a "power up" adapter which allows users to program and interface with the Power Commander on their desktop without being connected to the bike. Accelerator Pump You can adjust: A) The amount of fuel to add, B) The number of engine revolutions during which fuel is added, C) The sensitivity of throttle movement under which the accelerator pump is activated You can maybe have some of your answers in this list?? If you decide you want one, look me up at Apex Motorsports and it will run you only $285 ( retail is $332.95) This is the CBR FORUM price and you must mention this to get that price ( since we don't read minds!! haha) Part: 1020-0045 Item Status: Standard Description: PC USB HON CBR929RR Brand: DYNOJET The Power Commander IIIusb was introduced in 2003 and utilizes the same "direct injector control" technology as the PCIII. The USB (Universal Serial Bus) port provides an instant, no-hassle way to connect the Power Commander module to a computer. This model also features an expansion port for future add-on modules like an ignition module. Thumbnail Image

THANKS the power commander is there to make your engine run properly. your stock ecu is only able to compensate so much when it comes to air/fuel. normally, the ecu is just fine. when you start adding a slip/full system thats when the pc is needed. a pc will give a couple of hp but not alot. its there to smooth everything out. the only way to know if your engine is running right WITHOUT putting it on the dyno is with a wide band commander. personally, i like the wide band route vs. the dyno route. its able to log 10 minutes of REAL WORLD riding. give me a call at 1-828-395-4231 for awesome pricing for a pc. brad

not sure what my 2cents would mean to ya man but i personally wouldn't recomend getting one...i have one tried to ad to my DEVIL slip on and K&N filter...the PC3r i have set me back about $320 and set the bike back about 5hp i figure...now i have to go the route of dynoing it at $70 per hour and a base rate of $70 for an initial dyno run...its rather rediculous...unless u can get a deal on dyno work

I would definately recommend the PCIII USB if you have put an exhaust and filter. The benefits far outweigh any losses you might experience....well worth the $$. Just my $.02
