so my buddies 929 wont start. when you turn on the key everything comes on except the fuel pump will not prime. the bike turns over but nothing else. we hotwired the fuel pump and it came on , started priming, then the bike would start and run for a few seconds with the fuel that was in the system. we checked everything electrical, tested all wires for continuity and power, all good. checked the B A S and it was good. we did alot more than this but you get the idea..   any suggestions?

There has to be a relay or fuseable link going into the pump try to runn those wires. Did you try to jump bike off recently sometimes that will fry fuses. the connections need to be clean it could be something simple that gets overlooked. Sorry i couldn't be more help

yeah we checked continuity to all relays, replaced every fuse just in case, and cleaned all terminals on the bike!!  we ran a jumper wire from the relay to the pump and it kicked on to prime. could this be a computer problem?

you said it only ran for a a few seconds with the fuel in the line, how did the bike run before this problem.. if it's not primping it's the relay... if it's not starting/running it's the fuel pump... maybe replace both

yeah its not priming, but when we hotwired the pump it primed (took the wire off so as to not burn up the pump cause it would keep priming until the wire was taken off) and like i said the bike would run for a few seconds with the fuel that was put into the injectors.  we tested the relay, it has power and is reading good. we also switched out the relays as they are the same and still didnt work. it ran fine last time we rode then he parked it for bout a week and a half cause of the weather, went to start it and pump wouldnt come on!  how would it stop working if the bike wasnt touched, moved, started, nothing.   thanks for trying to help bobjoe, it is appreciated, but like i said we tested everything. is it possible for the relay to be getting a good reading (getting current) and still not work? and if so does that mean both relays are bad since we switched them and it still wouldnt run?

thanks
