I love these gloves. I really get the feeling for the throttle and the comfort has been awesome!

What do you guys think?

I got them as a gift and had been wearing them without much worry, but then I read a review and saw pics (I think it was this site) from when they were crash tested, the palms disintegrated and the person wearing them had bad rash/missing skin on his palms. That made me worry, but I already had them so I wore them.

Then I got to crash test them. I ended up landing in such a manner that my hand basically punched the ground, not a high speed crash or anything, but the knuckles of my pinky and ring fingers got swollen to the point that they did nto resemble knuckles, and I was missing quite a bit of skin on the inside my pinky finger (from the knuckle to the first joint) as well as a chunk of missing skin between my pinky and ring knuckles. The carbon fiber was crumpled and the edge of it turned into a sharp little blade that basically cut me like a knife.

I don't know if any other type of glove would have prevented the knuckles from being bruised/swelling up, nor do I know if similar carbon fiber or hard plastic knuckled gloves would have behaved any differently, but that's what happened to me.

like I said on the other post.
THOSE GLOVE ARE SUPER MOTO GLOVES and should not be sold or listed under street gear.

BUY the Alpinestar Octane - they are made with more leather and more padding!

On a related note, theres a guy on ebay selling these gloves for way too cheap, and looking at some of the auctions, reading the wording, some are advertised as alpinestars and some (gp plus) are just under the model name, and the gloves look like they say TAICHI.

Guessing they are knock offs, the color on the red octane gloves, for instance, his don't have the white patch by the thumb, as well as some of the gloves are listed as "new without packaging"
