Wow... did you check with your local shop to see if you could buy a six-pack of stator covers? Good stories. You gotta love the ass on the Dodge, lemme guess... he never saw you.

It was suppose to be my first long trip. We were heading to the beach. I was excited, beach, girls, bike. It was about 10 of us heading down. I had my bike for maybe a week or two. We stopped at the gas station before we hit the highway. Everyone got gas and started to pull out. I was the last one to pull out. Then I hit the throttle, my bike didn't have any power. It started smoking and everyone had left me. To make a long story short. I PUT DEISEL IN MY TANK. Pay attention at the gas pumps!!!

hahahahha time to add some of my stories .
1st It was my 1st time out for any long distance. I followed my roomate out to another county's humane society. Everything was smooth on the 40 mile ride. We get to the parking lot and its gravel. So I make sure to be very careful and I finally park set the kickstand down and dismount. Thinking wow that was awesome than all of the sudden you hear the sound of gravel and sound vs plastics. I just sat there for a minute in amazement while the peopleparked next to me were all gasping. So when I finally get my wits about me I realize its on the side the previous owner had already dropped it so I smiled. The only thing I can think of is I didnt have the bike fully settled cause the gravel was all lumpy and caused it to go over the ride side. Now I triple check the bikes footing and the kickstand.

Heres another great one caused by a hottie
It was my 2nd tank of gas and the 1st time i decided to sit on the bike to make sure I got it full. the gas is nearing the nozzle so i stop and move the nozzle up just a tad. Then this hottie rolls by so I turned my head and sure enough my arm follows. Then nozzle is right on the hump inside the tank and sprays fuel all over including the tank fairings and wind screen lol. So thats how not to fill the tank.

My stupid story is one I don't tell to often. I will start by saying I grew up as a kid riding on the back of my dads bike. Dad would ride us all over California and I would just rest my head on his back and sleep on the long trips. I got my first street bike at age 15(HONDA CB 650) and dad would let me ride with him as long as I followed and took is slow. I had no license and looked like I was twelve but with all the gear never got pulled over. While riding back to Palm Springs from a late night in Glendale (1:00 am) we ended up going down a back road and I fell asleep and ended up drifting off the road into a field. I woke up as soon as the bike hit the dirt. and freaked out. needless to say the bike was destroyed as it tumbled into pieces. I made it out o.k just a few scratches and a sore arm. Dad and I will never forget that night as It was the dumist thing you could ever possibly do.

I kind of did something like that parking my bike infront of my g/fs place one night... thank god for my frame sliders... all i got was a scuff on one of em... i was turning into the spot and the front locked or somethen and just jerked the bike... needless to say i fell over like a goof... but yeah... thank god for frame sliders and you'll move on... only thing bruised was my ego.

i hadn't had my bike for a week me and two of my friends decide to fill up with gas before we head out for bike night at hooters, i pull up to the pumps and see three hot girls standing inside the gas station and i point them out to my friends, so i'm thinking i got to look as cool as possible and maybe i can do the whole "hey want to take a ride" when i go in the station to pay, so i put both feet down at the pump turn bike off pull key out of ignition open the gas tank and i go to get off the bike and take my hemet off, and just about the time i get my leg over the bike here comes the bike right on top of me, some how in my wanting to look cool i forgot to put the kickstand down, so i'm laying on the ground with the bike on top of me with the gas tank open thankfully my tank was almost empty and it only sloshed a little gas on me and the bike, my friends had to run over and pick the bike up off of me, and then i look up and guess what three hot girls laughing at me, needless to say i let my buddy take the money in to pay.got lucky though no damage to bike.

pupdog_88, it takes a real man to share a story like that... a really shameful man. I can only imagine what the ladies you were trying to impress were thinking…

I've had a few mishaps in the MX world... but about a week after I got my '05 600RR I had the most embarassing thing in the world happen. I was turning around in my driveway, paying attention to the pine needles and such, when a pinecone falls and lands right in front of my tire. At almost no speed, I suddenly end up with the bike on my leg. I reached for my cell phone, called the neighbor, and had him stand the bike up. Not a scratch, except for my pride.

Yeah that sounds like a good idea. I just didn't want to get any scratches on the bike... so I sacrificed my pride instead... I can repair that with greater ease and less cost than the bike...

hahah... mine isnt that bad but still funny either way, here in Orange County we have this canyon run that runs up chapman into the hills n' stuff. its a really nice/fun ride and theres a ton of bikes up there on the weekends. anyways, about a few miles down this road theres a bar called cooks corner and theres always A TON of bikes there to hang out and have a drink if you want. anyways, myself and 7 of my buddies went up there one day, and i go to put my kickstand down and i didnt put it down all the way. i get off my bike to have it fall over and it also takes out my buddies bike... there must have been like 20+ people that were standing around and everyone turns around to check out what happend. hahah. i didn't want to take my helmet off so people wouldnt know who i was, so i just got my bike back up and took off after saying sorry to my buddy. hahah that sucked.

I see all of these stories of frame sliders saving the day....Do they actually protect your plastics? Cause i can't visualize how that little thing can hit first before your mirrors plastics pegs etc.?
