Bashing the police,sheriffs and state troopers, is like bashing our troops in Iraq, it just should not be done, they are doing their job, as like in any job regardless of what you do, some people are just better at it than others.

Why don't people bitch about the overwhelming number of poor service in our restaraunts? Idiots at the shoe store who act like they have better things to do than go to the back and find your size? Maybe it's just one of those things you get sick and tired of hearing about. Funny thing is, I rode all winter long - rarely read a single "cop" thread. Now that summer is coming, people are getting their bikes out and the cop threads are blowin' up. Strange how I make it through an entire 8 months without a run-in, and some of these people on here can't go 2 months in a row without getting it by the man. I wonder if their is a corralation between riding manners and traffic stops?
Ah, I remember... no one on here has yet to admit to any wrong doing... they we're just riding down the street. I also forgot that every threadstarter bitching about cops seems to have the country's worst cops in their city... strange.
If you were just joking - whatever. You're probably the type of guy who waves at every fire truck that goes down the street and never lifts a hand to the cops. Whatev, if you wanna stir the pot more and more go ahead - but for someone who had only joking intentions you should have certainly known where this thread was headed by posting a video of a cop doing some dumb shit.
uh both my bros are cops and just about EVERYONE i hang out with, love em to death, and they'd know NEW BOOTS when they see them lol. im an NCO in the service and if one of my guys did that, i'd clown those guys so hard that a picture of what happened would show up on custom made christmas cards 5 years after lol. Just as with the cops, sheriff, the service, whatever, both jobs are so stressful that you have to find humor in everything you do, so hats off to the rookie for nearly destroyin his cruiser. it was meant as humor not to bash, quit being so sensitive and learn to recognize one man busting anothers balls. with as much backlash and anger this has caused, i'd hate to see the cardiac stress tests of those few who stress such small things and can't find the humor.

egos aside, and whatever this threads intentions were, there is alot of cop bashing that goes on and typically, it is just someone pissed off that they got caught. dont blame the cop for doing his job, blame yourself for doing something that draws attention to yourself. now, there are the exceptions, as with any profession, there are nice cops, and there are assholes. as crenshaw used in his example, the pizza delivery lady who waits for a tip, i have been in pizza for 4 years, now PT, but I do expect people to tip me, but when they dont, i dont wait around, i gots more deliveries. and when i was manager, i fired people for doing that kind of stuff. people hate the popo when he pulls them over, but who you gonna call when you need help? i bet you dont call the ghostbusters.
Audi, it was the title of this thread which makes everyone think you are against the police. they should chase, but you shouldnt be running to begin with, which is why we have the rep we do.

Not all cops are good. Some of them really are douchebags. I know this one patrol officer (NOT a friend) who was recently chosen for the COPS film crew to ride with him. He brought a tape over to my house of him chasing a drunk guy in a stolen truck. They were running like 35MPH at most through some sidestreets. The guy finally stopped the truck, got out and started "running" on foot. I say "running" because he was obviously hammered and wasn't doing a good job. My 82 yr old grandmother coulda run him down. Anyway, the cop yells. "Police, freeze! Sir, stop running." He chased him for like 5 steps and tazered him. WTF??!! I don't know police procedure, but seems to me like he just tazered him for the fun of it.
You can say all you want that cops are good. That is true to some extent, but don't forget there are some bad ones. And those are the ones I DON'T want coming to my aid if I do call the boys in blue.

City Worker hit the nail on the head by saying that some people are better at their job than others, indeed some people are are simply smarter then others. When I watch this vidieo I don't see a cop, I see an individual who screwed up, which we have all done at one time or another. The unfotunate part (for him) is that the film makes him come across as somewhat of a dullard. There is also the added pressure of having to perform at your best while being filmed. However, that being said, it's hard to give someone who drives around with a bologna sandwich on the dash the benefit of the doubt.

it should be law that cops should be allowed to stop idiots who run and put everyone else's lives in danger any way possible, and that includes ramming their sorry a$$es with patrol cars, spike strips, shot guns, etc...

Here is my question about the video. Did the guy on the dirt bike even see the cop? It looked to me like he was just riding around. The cop was not in pursuit till the bike was already on the tracks. I dont think he was running in the first place.

lol ok now your really taking comments out of context and distorting them, doesn't anyone know the acronym "lol" when they see it....it started out as a funny thread and now the sensitive people have gotten ahold of it and turned it into a "cop bashing" and "not supporting police" thread.....i support my local cops....every thursday - saturday i'm out with them buying them shots....cheers

uh tahoe they are allowed to escalate force, except whenever "we" do we have the libs and rights advocates jumping our shit. and by saying we i mean the service as well, I personally was not even allowed to shoot people in IRAQ when I should of smoked them flat out. because then if we told our stories, we'd have people jumping out of the woodwork bashing "us."

if that cop is doing 100+ chasing after a bike that goes 160+, is he not putting lives at risk?

I looked back through the thread and most of us just laughed at the video for the humor value. There really wasn't any 'cop bashing' going on. LOL. Guess some people are a little too up tight... The vid was funny, i laughed. I don't stunt on streets or hit the highway at 140mph, i respect the laws and police, but there's nothing wrong with laughing at em when something like this is on camera. If something is funny, it's funny, cop or not.
Also like someone else said, the video either didn't show the start of the 'chase' or this wasn't even a chase. Just humor.
