As annoying as it might be I would stay off my bike until I was fit to ride again.  I love my bike to much to put it at risk.............

I rode around for ages after having a bung right leg.  Just put a strap on the crutches and carried them over my back.

As long as I could get on and off the bike, still operate it safely, and ride without too much discomfort why not? In fact in washington state, you can get handicaped plates for your bike!

As long as you can hold the bike up at stops and operate the foot brake, go for it.
