I currently have an 01 600 F4I. Today I rode my buddies 1000 GSXR. So now I am really thinking about getting a 1000 RR! I have been riding the 600 for about a year and half. Still haven't been able to drag a knee yet but am close. My question is would it be wise to step up to that much power so soon? Have not ridden a 1000 RR, but the Gixxer was pretty easy to ride. The power difference was something else. Now I know why my buddy calls it a giggle box. I want to stick with Honda.

+1 on sticking with Honda. As long as you respect the bike, you will be okay. But I am warining you now- this is a touchy subject, be ready for lots of feedback with various opinions.

It obvioulsy has a lot more power and you can lift the front end in the first three gears - even if you don't mean to. If your not careful, the bike will ride you.

When i was 18 i got my first bike.. (Im 19 now)... And my first bike was a ZX9-R....I know it was alot of CC's for a starting bike but i understood the power it had... I now have a 2006 CBR1000RR... and my brother, who had a ducati 750 monster (first bike), has a GSXR1000... there really isnt a big difference btw the two older bike we had and the new ones.. the only difference is on the high way... im saying if you think your ready get a 1000RR.. it wont make much of a difference on the regular street... butonce u hit the highway.. u will see a difference..

I am not really big on the going top speed as fast as you can. I am mostly interested in riding the curves. I heard a couple people say that they are not corner machines, but them ones I saw up at the Gap sure do corner. I just get tired of twisting the piss out of my 600 to keep up with my buddies.
