i am not childish thank you i lost someone less then a month ago in a very bad accident. So dont tell me to grow up please. Yes he was in the fault for speeding but dont tell me that you dont speed on your bike?? That you never went that fast or faster?? Have you ever had to bury someone that you loved or cared about at the young age of 27?? I have so dont tell me to grow up!!

i hope your friend gets better and is able/willing to get back on a bike again. it was a bad situation that believe it or ot could've been worse. you and your friend played fast and reckless and he got caught. you werent controling his throttle , so to say that ou made him go that fast would be inaccurate yet @ the same time people with less experiece tend to follow those who they believe know what they are doing. my prayers are with him and his family. may he make a speedy recover and i hope you are able to walk away from this situation with a lil better understand on how our actions have a direct effect on the others around us even when we have th ebest intentions in mind

what TheX is saying is it could have been prevented, yea we might speed, but I dont do 100+.....Im not pointing blame, I think that he was just trying to keep up, and couldnt.......just slow it down this season...we dont need anymore riders down!

I don't get the idea that because you have a sportbike you speed and all that stuff. How many times have I heard "what, and you don't speed?" Really, I don't. On normal everyday commutes and streets, I might push 5-8 over the limmit or so, but don't blast it just cause I'm on a bike. The only time I really push it is on the twisties out in BFE with one or two other riders, zero traffic and a guy riding sweep to make sure no-one gets left behind. I have a hard time believing that speeding and tearin it up is the norm or is expected cause you ride a sportbike.

Sandstorm? Birthday gift? 25 Miles straight? NO COPS in this country?...Oil money maybe. At 150mph they are lucky they didn't hit a camel. Glad to hear he is bouncing back. That guy should really reconsider his desire ti ride, he doesn't have the common sense. Some people never get fast on two wheels, but some people just belong on 4.

I have to agree with TheX on this. Not setting a good example to a new rider. From the original post it seems like this was his very first bike, but then later it sounded like he's ridden before. I'm a little confused by that one. If it was a new rider that you or anyone is with, it's best to not push anything, because "monkey see, monkey do". And it usually ends with "monkey can't". It was also the guy's fault that crashed. Should not try to keep up and certainly not pass like that at those speeds. I'm guilty of speeding. On roads i'm familiar with I'll do 15 over, but certainly nothing crazy. It's not a race, I'll get home in one piece. I know my limits and what can happen in an instant with all variables on a public roads. I'll also shoot up to 100 on a 4 lane then back down to the speed limit if there's no cars around or access roads or side roads. Other than that, I won't go any faster. Not worth it. In any event, the guy's lucky to be alive. Doesn't quite sound like he'll be like he was before though. I do wish him, family and friends all the best and a full recovery.
