I am trying to get my '95 running, and have run into a problem with the carbeurators. It seems like gas is not making it from the bowls to the engine, as I can pour gas in, and it will run for a few seconds. I pulled the carbs, cleaned out the bowls, and sprayed the rest with car cleaner. I have also recently installed a different fuel pump, and it seems to work fine off of the bike. Whenever it is hooked up, however, it seems like it stops pumping when the line going to the carbs is full, or if it has any line pressure. So, is it suppossed to do this ? Or is the fuel pump cratering.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Ernest

THis might sound stupid, but did you inspect the main jets, pilot jets, and ect...if you just did the floats and the jets are plugged you will be getting nowhere

You know, I only gave them a quick glance, didn't really go through them really well. I will be pulling them off again tonight, and will really go through them. I did have it running for a few, so I kind of assumed that the jets were good, but I guess I forgot my own first rule: assume nothing.

Thanks,
Ernest

I went through and cleaned everything out, and still cannot get it to start without pouring gas into the carbs. Which vacuum line lets the carb pull in gas, from the top or bottom ?

Thanks,
Ernest
