just fix the rim and make it driveable..... learn how to ride and then spend money on a new bike.. no point on crashing a new one

ORIGINAL: dabudaman I was just stupid, riding above my experience level. I learned an important lesson though, its sick how quick that thing got away from me. And it was the first time I decided not to wear my body armor. Luckily I was wearing my helmet though. glad to hear you made it through!,what exactly happened?,if you dont mind me asking o8

What did happen, if you don't mind? Looks like it went greasy side up. Both frame sliders seemed to have done their job.

I'm not too familiar with the terminology yet. Greasy side up? If that means did a couple backflips then hit the ground and skidded afterwards, then yeah. Greasy side up.

Yea, thats it. I noticed the tail is jacked, ding on the gas tank, and damage on both sides. A "couple" backflips? Holly $#!+ dabud, glad you made it out of that one. Be safe!!!

i am no motorcycle mechanic. but it doesnt look that bad, i mean, it looks like if you can turn a wench you can fix that thing.....well i guess you would be hard set to turn one now, but think about buying it back and bringing it back. your first bike doesnt have to be pretty.

Yeah, I was kind of thinking the same thing. But the insurance company had the bike valued at close to six grand while I only paid 5100 for it. I think I'd rather take the check and buy a 9 month CD. That way by the time I'm healed up I can take the cash and just get another bike. I'm more focused on getting healthy again for the moment. Hopefully I can find a good deal on another bike and some gear at the end of the summer and try again next year. I loved the 954RR but I'm thinking it was a little too much motorcycle for my experience level. I'll probably just get an F4i and take my time learning the fundamentals so as to avoid a repeat of this summers nightmare.

CD shopping are you, thats a good idea. make sure you look around, sometimes 6 month cds pay of more. like mine does. i have a good intrest rate at citi bank, around 4.6 or somtin, also WAMU has really good intrest rates.

INGdirect.com has CDs over 7% some times at 9 month or 12 month cash out EDIT: right now it's says Earn 5.10% APY with a 12-month Orange CD. Available in a variety of terms ranging from 6 to 60 months, the Orange CD offers a great rate, guaranteed return and the security of FDIC insurance. View today's rates. BTW I have an ING savings account with a 4.5% interest rate, I made almost a grand last year just in interest without touching my money. It's the best thing I've ever done. I hear there are some other banks with higher rates right now, but ING has been awesome so far. Great customer service, secure as anything, and easy to use.
