last year i met a 79 yr-old guy from the Antelope Valley who was riding an 06 cbr1000rr ... i didn't believe it till he showed me his license. We got talking since he told me he had a CRF he wanted to sell since it hurt too much to ride the trails. Apparently he upgraded to the 06 from his 04.

Lost touch until last week when he showed up on an 07 Gixxer ... gotta luvvv Social Security LOL

...it would be nice if they had some sort of "stupid test" that you needed to pass to be able to ride,   or to be able to have children for that matter.

+1000 to that!

My sentiments exactly.  I'm also 40, and I also ride an '06 cbr 1000rr.

53  got an 07 Repsol yesterday. Last bike was an 03 R1. Looking forward to buying the 2027 Repsol, I understand it won't need tires. I'm 6'0 165 lbs and can still kick ass.

43. Sold my Harley 3 years ago. Was looking for another bike but didn't want to spend the cash on another HD. Bought an '07 CBR1kRR 10 days ago. My first sportbike. 300 miles later I'm still having problems wiping the smile off my face. And the feeling in my right thumb is coming back! :)

I’ll be 60 this fall.  I ride a 06 1000RR.  Took the Keith Code 2 day track camp last year and have done tracks days at the Pocono East track.  Love the bike and all the related stuff that goes with it.

We just went on the local redding yamaha river run ride to hayfork and i can say the road captain for the sport bike group that left first was awesome. He looked like papa smurf and had a shiny r1. We ran buckhorn summit between 60-95 (speed limits are between 25-45. Knee draggin. And he was keeping us plenty fast. I.E. new tires and no chicken strips left) He is probably 55 and 230 lbs. I started on a sportster 1200 and im never going to go back to cruisers and it was cool to see this old guy still kickin it.
