Ok, I tried restraining myself from making a post on this...since, I'm basically a nobody noob, BUT...
Yes, the driver of the Mercedes was a self-righteous prick. No doubts about that. It would have been best to let things go. On the other hand, the bikers were doing 70+ mph in a 55 and did pass on a double yellow. I don't know about Cali, but here in PA, most double yellows are that way due to safety reasons. Be it a limited visibility situation or otherwise. It only takes a split second for the situation to change. That's coming from someone who lives in an area where Amish Buggies seem to appear out of no where. The bikers put themselves and any individual coming in the opposite direction at risk. If you want to ride like an ass, do it at the track where the only person you risk is yourself. 2 wrongs don't make a right. The attitudes of some of the individuals on this thread, equally appalled me. Kick the guys car? Is that a reasonable, mature response? Why not further the bad image of bikers by adding more negatitivity to it. Every action you take has a reaction and in many case, that affects everyone else. Ever wonder, why police automatically fault the biker? It's because if moves such as those shown in the video. I do recognize that those who thinks the bikers did no wrong will never understand this point of view, so my time typing this is probably a waste. But oh well.
Speaking of which, this very morning, a Harley was cruising in the right lane and I was just about pass him in my cage in the left, he cut in front of me without signaling and without checking his blinds. I had to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting him.
Anyway, I hope to have my newly purchased, CBR600F2 (my first bike), up and running soon.

I don't have a bike yet , and frankly I don't know what it is like to have that feeling of instant exceleration between my legs. But I Have a 100k Mercedes which I bought because I like to drive the speed limit all the time. Sure , it is capable of speeds way beyond your average motorcycle, But I'm so responsible and I'm not at all self righteous. So screw you Motorcycle riders. Hahahahahahaa

I'm sorry, are you saying "instant accelaration" or just combining exhilaration with acceleration?
As for talk about it after I get a bike? What difference will that make? You saying that I'm not permitted to pass judgement on those violating the law? If you don't like the laws, either work to have them changed or break them. But if you break them and you get your ass smeared across the asphalt, ticketed or jailed, well, there is no one to blame but yourself. I just hope you don't kill or hurt someone else in the process.
I'm not saying that I'm not going to love the taking off the line or um...pushing the speed limit, I'm just not going to completely disregard the laws that are put in place that are meant to protect yourself and keep you from harming others.

there's no difference with those who have bikes and pose vs. those who want bikes and are enthused about it...now had woo given us his scoop on how to drag knee and never had a bike then that's a different story! now if he said "i used to ride in the 70s but i don't ride anymore...i dragged knee, etc." then it's ok to say...shaddup old mang! muahahah...
but if he comes back with anything non-honda then it's game on.
why you not use the quote function?

Me and a couple buddies had this same thing happen only it was a diesel pickup truck and the guy on the bike was my friends dad. He is 60 years old and when he went to pass the truck floored it and kept it floored till about 100 mph. I was behind watching the whole thing. Then after he finally got around him the truck rode his ass. There was no dy just some dude in a truck being a prick. That was one time I relly felt like beating the shit out of him.

Woo I am not trying to encourage you to go out and break the law once you have your bike. I have passed cars on a dy before, yes. I don't make it a habit like you are suggesting. I have never passed on a dy on a road that I don't know well, or didn't have a clear line of vision When I've done it it is usually to get around a farm implement or a senior content to drive below the speed limit. I understand that the tone of my post would suggest otherwise, but at 38 I no longer feel the need to be the first guy to the next set of lights

Well, I appreciate your reply. As for the spelling, I was quite serious about the combining of the 2 words. I thought it was rather creative. I don't mind a good old ribbing... Usually it's called for. It's just that I read how people are talking about tossing ball bearings and nuts to retaliate someone when the first offense was the biker. I know that it's the internet and flame wars abound and people will talk trash for the sake of talking trash. It's just that I'm just starting off with my first bike...I hate to be classified as a careless individual because I chose a CBR for my first bike. Watching videos of people doing stunts on highways and the one video where the guy went head on w/ another bike because he did cross over the line (I don't think he thought he was putting anyone else at risk) really doesn't help. I just hope that the average biker is responsible and have a good head on their shoulders. After all, "most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle."
