All I can say is that your love toward him and you prayers for us warms my heart in a time when everything seems cold.  My love for him will never die.  I know he will wait for me in heaven.  To all his Marines...All I have to say you are his family also.  He will not forget you.  Kevin and Dave bless you for coming to my rescue.  Knowing that you are there right next to his body makes at ease.  I know you will take care of him.  You are truly good friends and good Marines.  May the good Lord bless you with love and a healthy life.  Mark I am here for you.  I will always be here my precious angel.  You are my breath, my tears, and my joy.  Thank you for bringing so much joy and hope into my life.  I am here lil one...I am here.

If you need anything at all, just let us know we will be there for you.

This makes me sick to my stomach. He was a good man.
Another friend down, another life lost, another round of pain and mourning for us left behind...
RIP Mark, we pray for you and yours.

I am not very good with words sometimes, so if this comes across wrong, please know that it is in the best intentions...

I am a Marine Master Sergeant, and have been in the shoes that Mark was filling as a Staff Sergeant. I teach an advanced riders course, similar to Mark teaching the MSF. I moved on from doing basic instruction because I felt that advanced instruction was where I would make the most impact, save the most lives, improve other's riding abilities. It seems that Mark was a good Marine, and that's all we can try to be. Sometimes we live large, and that is due to knowing that at any time, we can be called to do battle for our country. The end result is that, sometimes, we die doing what we love to do.

Lily...... I am very sorry for your loss, and I am sorry for the loss the Marine Corps has suffered as well. The same type of accident came close to taking me and my wife both last year, but due to many, many drills doing obstacle avoidance, I managed to avoid the truck and our children were not stranded. It is something I teach strenuously since it is a big problem in our world, as we are well aware of. I urge every one of you to stress this to your friends. Stress how important it is to be on the highest level of awareness for those cagers that are oblivious to riders. The life you save may be your own, or that of your best friend or loved one.

My deepest sympathies Lily. God Bless.

You are so right. We ALL need to learn from this................let the gift of his memory be to STRESS the importance of awareness at an intersection to your peers, friends, students and especially yourself. Cars generally do not keep their eyes open for motorcyclists or bicyclists. Honor Mark, by keeping your eyes and mind wide open.................especially us motorcyclist enthusiasts. Your presence is missed..............

Years ago a co-worker/friend commited suicide at work.  It was very hard for us to deal with.  Sometimes I stumble upon a notebook, or a file, or a card in the rolodex with his writing on it, and I feel like it is sacred and I get very emotional.  I was looking back trying to find an old post, and found a comment from Mark...good response, made me sad, wish he were still here...

Yes, i know what its like to lose someone close to you, my best friend from my childhood, was killed in a car accident our senior year and it hurts so bad, my tattoo was very helpfull to me. I miss her everyday, Its hard to deal with, sometimes i go through our childhood notes and stuff that i kept over the years and i just cry. Its hard, ive lost a lot of great friends in my life. But just keep your head up to the sky and God will help you through it.

Wow that was very nice what you said. I am planning on getting a tattoo in memory of shane/ss954rr this summer. I havent heard from Lily in a few days. She said she would get back to after the funeral and everything.
