i was wondering how i should go about purchasing a bike (01-03 f4i). did you guys save up extra scratch or went out a financed it? i have a pretty good job(IT, private company), and i can amass some cash in a short while. or i can just get financing for it. i want to purchase private party, or from a dealer if i can find a used bike for a nice price.

Cash.  I don't want to have to pay full insurance, just because I owe on it.

I will borrow to pay for assets which don't lose their value over time - which is pretty much only real estate and education.  Everything else is cash.
