Got rid of the boat anchor exhuast and put a Scorpion muffler on.

........and if you cant afford $800 for an exhaust, or whatever that system costs....  let me know and i can show you how to open up and remove some of the innards of the stock cans to get the same sound.  Plus you can keep the cool triangular look of the stock cans.

Mines an '01.   Single side exhuast.   I need to go the muffler shop and have them bend me a high mount mid pipe so I can show off my single side wheel.  Mmmmmm..........you like that dont ya.

There's a guy that made an under body exhuast.   The muffler is basically a rectangular box.   Looks good.

But....there is a problem with them regarding the charging system. I know a guy with an '02 who has been through 2 OEM stators, 2 OEM rectifiers and 2 aftermarket rectifiers. He is now looking for another rectifier! Another guy is on his second rectifier.

Never had a problem with either of my two VFR's.   Most owners that have electrical issues have accesories added which i think strains the system.

There's a guy on vfrdiscussion.com that makes a modified harness add on.   They have good info.

I'm beginning to think that CBR stands for Counton Buying Rectifiers...and VFR is the same way: inVariably Faulty Regulators...is it that hard to perfect a technology this old or is it some propietary, unavoidable thing?

have not had the  VFR 800  had the previous model 96 750 and love the damn thing only got rid of it due to a permanent duty station change which was a joke but anyway you can lean it right over enjoyed the hell out of it and I have heard horror stories about the reflector just melting down never seen it and don't want to

I've had a '97 VFR (loved it)  and now have an '03   (love it too)   Goes well with the cbr's

I've even tracked the big VFR a few times with nice results...

You wont go wrong buying a VFR.   I dont think i've ever met anyone that owned one that didn't love it.

You might also give this a read too: http://www.motorcycle.com/events/living-with-the-vfr-14384.html

I will look into one for my next bike.  I like the RC51, but a VFR 800 would work just fine.
