Hi guys and gals, I'm a former 98 cbrf3 owner and sold my bike last year.  I really loved the reliability of my Honda.  Routine maintenance gas and go!!  I would definitely buy another, but I have to say I did buy a 2006 Buell Lightning 1200cc this year.  I'm curious to see what all the sport riders think about the Buell?  Let me tell you this bike is 100% sport!!  Air cooled 1200cc V-twin, fuel in the frame, oil in the swingarm, belt driven, "Naked Streetfighter"

Hell, I'd take one, but I'm not big on air cooled.     Looks awesome man.

Thanks!  You know, it's not going to break any land speed records or anything ( topped at 135mph or so) But hell, going fast in a straight line is too easy

I like the innovation they represent but for as much as harley and buell push them not to mention their price take they lack in performance. I mean a stock 600 will walk these bikes all day long.

Yeah, top end.  I can damn near drag my elbow on my Buell.  I would hit my pegs on my CBR if I leaned it too far.  It just seems to corner better.  I ride with guys on Ducati's and Aprilla's, I can pull em' up to about 120mph then they take off.  I havent had a chance to ride with any japper's yet.  I'd like to so I can have a comparison.  Maybe some short sprints, roll-ons from like 30-50mph and some twisties.

Those bikes are innovative, but obnoxiously loud. To each his own I suppose.

Maybe you should have waited a bit. Reports are that Buell will be going to Rotax v-twins instead of Harley power in at least some of their models for '08. Rotax, I think, make Aprila Mille engines, so they should produce decent power.
