Hey guys, new to the forum but I thought I would hop on here to ask you all a question. I am looking to getting a bike to start riding around on. I was thinking of getting a 250 or 500 but this 600 is being sold by a guy that lives near me. He wants 2000 OBO for it. It has 18000 miles on it.He said that the bike was dumped before he got it. He also mentioned it needs new spark plugs and paint job. By looking at the pics I saw that it would need new tires also. I don't think it is worth 2000 with the problems on it but any thoughts would be great. Also...what is that hole on the gas tank??

I had a 94 f2 with 45k mi., been down a bunch of times but all still i tacked with the help of a little duct tape, the bike still ran awsome with help of new plugs but i had no prblam selling it for 1500 but keep in mind the miles and the fact how many times it had been down

i'd start wil 1500, and no higher than 1800. And explain to the owner about the money that you would have to put into it for new tires.

What hole.

yeah, I think it is the reflection or something. I am just trying to find everything wrong with it. I am trying to be real picky. For example, I thought that was a dent on the front rim. The owner told me it is not a dent but just the picture. He also noted that the bike is running great now with new spark plugs and by fixing a fuel air mixture problem. I have a friend that runs a body repair and paint shop. He can probably get me a new paint job for a good price. I just wanted to see if there was any visual problems. Most importantly I want it to be running good.

Just talked to the owner again...he said the gas tank is dented from when the previous owner layed it down. How much would that be to get fixed?

I would look at how it was dumped, meaning is it rashed all down the other side, or did the guy drop it against a tree at the park? The front view doesn't look too good as none of the lines match up. Almost like something is out of whack. 18k miles and the price on a 95 seems good, but I would look it over good, take pictures yourself, and sleep on it.

needing paint, a tank, a tuneup and who knows what else, I'd stay under 1800.

yeah, I'll have to see how it feels when I take it around. He wants to sell it before he gets deployed in a couple months. I am just browsing around so I will give it some time and see how low I can go on it. Thanks for the comments, I appreciate it.
