mine used to do the same thing to the point where she cut out. I hard wired my fan to a switch so i could control when i came on. that helped alot but did not solve it. I had to take the thermostat out and now she runs fine. Take forever to heat up though.. oh well.

In stop and go traffic the temperature needle will go a bit past the middle point toward the Hot side.

I don''t know how hot it is, but I do know the radiator fins...at least some of them are damaged and pushed in.

That could affect cooling on my bike. It doesn''t seem to be too much of a problem now, but I always try to avoid traffic so I don''t face overheating.
