So I was riding around today here in Kansas and was coming to a stop and my bike shuts off...so I push it to a parking lot and try to crank it over and nothing...the battery starts to die.  I walked to a friends house which was about 10 blocks away and he brought me back to the bike a little later so we could pick it up..I went to start it and bam it started...I was pissed...so now I really am kind of hesistant of riding it in case that happens again....and suggestions....
PS it was'nt out of gas.

Mine just died riding it tonight and the starter would just click very lightly like no juice was in the battery. The lights were on but seemed dim. I drove it home after popping the clutch to get it started. What is the most likely culprit? The battery which is only 1 &1/2 years old, the stator, or the regulator, or rectifier which I don't know what that is unless it is the regulator as a different name. Any help is appreciated.

that is DEFINATELY your regualtor/rectifier..it is located on the right side of the bike next to the seat by the CDI....  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/High-Performance-Regulator-Rectifier-CBR-600-900-F2-F3_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35594QQihZ002QQitemZ120141733119QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Get on eBay and get one from a late model GSXR. Do a search on here and you'll find the instructions.

I'm running the GSXR 1000 reg/rec for over 3 months now and no problems.

FWIW, someone mentioned in a thread that I found while searching that the single plug GSXR modules will work, but not the double plug ones (more wires) anyway, the single plug ones seem to be on the 600s, 750s, and the 1000s from something like 2000 through 2003or 4. (also looking at number and colors of wires as well as varying styles and colors of heatsinks) That's a lot of bikes and judging by the photos I have seen of the heatsinks, they are built 10x better than the Honda versions. My R/R works fine right now, but they are like $15 or so plus shipping on eBay and I'm tempted to by one and install it just so I never get stuck. Cheap insurance IMO.
