You did very well Blue1000F and looked very calm and had no problems on the track. The first time I did a track day, convinced I could drive, nearly scared the shit out of me when I realised how different is was to road driving and linited lean angles. The trip yesterday started quite exiting already from take off at work. The road was open and perfectly clear so there were no security issues at all and the sun was shining. Perfect conditions for WOT. Far away at the end of a long downhill slope I could see some white thing beside the countryside road so I went off the throttle and began to let the bike slow down by itself. When I was quite near I could see that is was just some type of working van and what looked like to be two workers staying beside. Not until I just passed them I could see the old type radar on a low tripod stand. The speed was then 87 km/h on the 90-road according to the calibrated bicycle computer. Gosh, it was so near that I gave full throttle when I was 95 % convinced they were no cops. The earlier written warning has definitely helped to think and watch up.

A short vid were the bird comes on inner line and lift the front slighly on 3rd before backing of throttle. The outer bike couldn't overtake and that felt quite good :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F81tImbS-aE Another with a little more pace. First a blue bike and quite a gap to the bird that comes second and two red bikes behind the bird. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEan00sdwMk

In your track rules can you over take on the in side. It does feel good to out accelerate your opposition.

Yes is felt damn good to make a gap even though he came close again into the next curve. It happened several times that I could see another bike trying to overtake after a curve and it just disappeared behind when going WOT. The bike pulls good enough and it is me that has to practice a lot more in corners etc. Is there a general rule that overtaking is allowed on the side where you will be on inner lane to the next curve? I have never thought about it. On the specific track they said - pass on left on the home straight and to the right on the back straight. The home straight ends with a left turn and the back straight ends with a left turn. On other tracks like e.g. the Nurburg Ring is was said that you are only allowed to overtake on the left, perhaps this rule is specific for tracks where the public is allowed to attend.

The track at Linkoping Motorstadion where we drove the last time, had different over take rules. We where three separate groups, newbeginner, average and race group. In the newbeginner group i drove in,you could over take on the outside on one straight and on inside on another straight. In the race group the over take was aloud anywhere (if i remember correct). I dont remember the rules for average group.

It was the same in the average group as in the beginners group. It was new to me though; on Gelleråsen you can overtake on any side and anywhere as long as you don't cross the line of the guy in front to near during practice. The only limitation is that slower groups are not allowed to overtake in corners. In real competition I guess it is more or less up to you as long as you don’t crash into others bikes.
