i recently hit a deer with my '01 600 f4i, it cracked the stator cover and snaped off the pegs. does anyone know if its worth it to buy that shiny polished aluminum stator cover with "cbr" on it or just go to honda and get the stock one?  i heard billet aluminum is the way to go but sites always say its polished aluminum instead of billet. i just dont wanna buy something shittier than what was already on there. and i need to buy new rear sets for the bike, anyone know any good aftermarket sites to check out?  im lookin for strength and overall quality in case the deer get confused again and try to take me out.

all help will be appreciated, thanks.

if you can't hold it in your hand and make the choice then go with stock

for strenght, it is a toss up. I was talking to a honda tech and the stator covers are not made to take an impact. If you drop the bike and the ground hits the stator cover, you are most likely looking at replacing it. The covers are made thin and light in Hondas attempt to lighten the sport bikes. I personally only put stock parts back on my bike if the part is "functional" just so I know it works.
