hey guys i'v been  letting ppl know that march of next year i plan on going to Big Bend texas . so all of you texas riders ( and AZ riders because your pretty close your self )  if your up for a good ride then start saying now . that way i can get a head count and we can see how many rooms we need and what the price is gonna be . i think where up to about 3 or 4.  ( big bend is in far west texas .  its about 9 hours from austin,tx )  and the nine hours is well worth the ride down there once you get down there ! i plan on takeing 4 days off . 1 day to get down there. 2 days to ride and then one day back so you have time to rest ! )   on the way there its 90% highway . me and some guys from gstwins.com  went in 2006 and it was a blast it was well worth it !  so start saving now!!!  and lets see if we can get a big group down there this  time !

If work schedule allows, I'm in.  It's pretty down there.  I'm in Abilene BTW.

Oh yeah, they used to host an enduro there every year.  I wonder if they would run a TT from Terlingua to Redford?  That would be a fun little run...just a side thought.

I'm looking at relocating to TX soon, that sounds like a great trip.

Sounds fun. I'd like to join. NM is the invisible state.

good good good . we just keep adding ppl now ! i should have you guys a good idea what your going to pay for a room there around big bend .. you will have to make sure you get a good idea what your going to have to pay for your gas because everyone is coming from diffrent parts of the state and other states. best way to do that is over judge for gas .. like here right now . super unleaded is 2.79 a gallaon. i would assume that its going to be 3.10 a gallon in big bend . but we will see what gas prices are when march rolls around . start saving !!!! march is just around the corner !!!

I think I paid around 48 bucks for a room at the Chisos Mining Company motel...no phone, no tv-heaven.  Keeping gas in your tank in that area is task...lots of space between stations.  I dunno how much my 600 will suck down on those twisty mountain roads.  I might need a small back up tank.

naa you should be fine . when we went last year there was a gas station about ever 100 miles .. that seems to be the sweet spot !

I'd figured, since it is a National Park, I'd take my sleeping bag and just sleep under the stars. One can probably reserve campsites, too. Pesky Rangers!
