50.00 scuff the plastics and use Krylon Fusion paint.. that stuff is awesome, easy to spray, flattens well, barely runs and actually soaks into the plastic and is scuff and scratch resistant!

I got a quote from a guy I KNOW does good work...he said 800 bucks beginning to end. He will prep, primer, paint, clear and buff....this is also with paint included and that color is like the pepsi blue. Sound reasonable?

I know of a guy in redwood city who does custom paint jobs. Mike taylor will make your bike ridiculusly clean. He is pricy but its definately worth it. Prep, primer, custom paint job, clear coat, polish, and satisfaction included. You will have THE BEST paint job in your area for sure. Look him up if your interested in making your bike sick as hell http://www.miketaylordesigns.com/

$2,200 - and be careful to whom you entrust your baby...you can judge mine under Bike of the Month, November posting to see whether I'm brilliant or an idiot (I'd vote somewhere in-between, but you can take a look and see if it's worth the money to you *shrug*). Good luck, Dave

2,200 for a paintjob??? that thing better have more detail than anything around and have some diamond particles in the paint! i paid WAY WAY WAY WAY less than that for my bike and a helmet and there is a ton of detail to it and that was with house of color paint and prep.. and i just had a snowmobile hood done to match my bike and it was 80.00...

Well, counting that $2,200 paintjob - which did include the wheels, (it has reflective paint, but alas, no diamonds, lol) the $5,000+ value for a 5,300 mile, lightly-ridden bike (never over 100), $300+ dollar cages, new seats, flame mirrors, a TwoBros exhaust, a side-mounted (by rear wheel) plate holder, an HJC helmet that matches the red polished chrome on the frame, a flame helmet that matches the paint, and two jackets.... I paid $5,500 for about $8,500 in stuff - I don't feel so bad about that. A warning, though; one thing that got me such a discount is that "after-market" changes, such as custom paint and toys such as mirrors and pipes are only valued, both for insurance and resale, as much as you can get for them. This means the insurance companies (or shippers) won't cover it w/out you paying extra, and the resale value hardly goes up, unless you just know someone who loves your paint or whatever and is willing to out-bid someone else for a unique bike. Regardless of price, you're gonna pay $300 - $500 for stickers, $800 - $20,000 for paint (ever watch some of the stuff they do on some of the chopper-building shows?); go w/what's in your budget. Ah hell, man, no wonder you got paint cheap, you're in Wisconsin! I just checked your bike out on your myspace. Aside from being Harley/chopper headquarters, everything's cheap up there! I spent a couple years in Wisconsin Rapids; Madison is still probably the coolest mid-sized town I've been to - I'm an original Ohioan (go Buckeyes), have been to Ann Arbor (Michigan) and Happy Valley (Penn State), and currently live in Gainesville, FL (UF), so I know something about college party towns. Sweet bike, sweet matching paint on the snowmobile - here's hoping you get enough snow up there this year to get some good riding in on it. Dave

Man, the flat black on this one definitely passes for gangsta. :) Always been a fan of good ol' two-tone, whether it's the Eddie Bauer Ford Explorers from the early 90s, striped Ts, or CBRs. If you really go chamelion paint, make sure you don't mess it up, cuz your bike already looks good - that'd be a shame. :( Dave PS, thanks, glad you like the flames - I didn't do them, but they definitely drew me in.
