Will be switching over from the factory green to engine ice soon for upcomming track days. I'm going with the engine ice because I ride hot or cold, and need the lower freezing point of engine ice (claimed -27 F). Guess my question is how often will engine ice have to be flushed out and add new engine ice? Does it last about a year or longer before it starts breaking down?

That's a good question. I have had it in my bike for a year now. I'm not sure if it's suppose to last as long as regular antifreeze. I hope someone knows the answer.

I change mine out in the track bike every season, it doesnt protect against corrosion as well as Anti-Freeze, so my attitude is when in doubt flush it out.

all I know is Engine Ice usually isn't allowed when regular coolant isn't, I know the groups I ride with don't allow it

its glycol based antifreeze

they advertise that it works really really well (so it must be true, right?) but its still glycol based which means its still slippery and a b!tch to clean off a track so its usually not allowed and DEFINITELY not a good idea for a bike thats going on a track

stick with watter/water wetter and swap that for antifreeze in the winter

Oh, I thought that engine ice was allowed. I'll have to dig into that further to see if it is or isn't. I know water wetter is ok at all tracks, so maybe I should use that to be sure. I guess I can save my old antifreeze since it's an '07 bike and then swap it out before it gets cold, or just buy new again. Not very expensive anyway. Or switch to the engine ice for winter all together.
So, with water wetter, it's just a very small amount mixed with distilled water, right? Is that stuff good for corrosion protection on aluminum? Or is that not an issue?

I don't mean to step on toes Woody but every track day that I have done or group I have done one with allow's engine ice. It may be different with the groups you run in.

all the tracks in the mid-west (that ive read) will NOT allow anything but water and water wetter. no engine ice or any other glycol based liquids.

Do all tracks include Mid-Ohio or Putnam Park? I've done both and when I go through tech they ask if I have engine ice or water wetter. Go to Sport Bike Track Time and check in their bike prep.
You will see that engine ice is OK.

huh, I know NESBA doesn't allow it for Advanced group and I know WERA doesn't.  Pretty sure Barber won't allow it either but its hard to tell since most the groups I've ridden there with don't allow it themselves

again, even if it is legal its still glycol based according to their web site so its not a good idea to use on the track (water/water wetter is universally acceptable and works as well/better than engine ice)
engine ice cleans up similar to water/water wetter IF a LOT of water is readily available on the track to clean it up, it can't be left there to dry on its own (doesn't evaporate nearly as fast and is very slippery) and it can't be cleaned with oil dry.  So a track would have to have a mobile water tank to clean up engine ice properly, which means more lost track time for other riders because you didn't want to have to drain your cooling system again before winter...

and yeah for water wetter just mix it with the proper amount of distilled water (after flushing the system a few times.  The water wetter protects against corrosion.

Well, I looked into it and Engine Ice is an acceptable coolant to use here (Gateway Int'l Raceway) in the MCRA (Midwest Cafe Racer's Association) trackdays or CCS racing.
