I've had my bike now for about 3 weeks. Anyways i have seen the 1/4 mile times and stuff on here, but there are not any 1/4 mile drag strips around where i live.  There are only 1/8 strips here.  What are everybodies 1/8 miles times.  My best speed was 92 mph, but my best time was 8.7 at 88.  It was bogging really bad coming out of the hole though.

An 8.7 puts you in the 12 second range in the quarter.  Your 60ft must be fairly high.  A 1.7 60ft is pretty damn respectable for a street bike with a good rider........THAT should lower your et quite a bit.  What was your 60ft?

WOW!!!  You have a LOT of time to make up on the starting line.  Pin that little bitch at 10grand and as the light is "rolling" from the 2nd to the3rd yellow start slipping out the clutch and feed in the throttle to maintain RPM.  If it starts to come up on you, pull a little clutch in and roll off the throttle SLIGHTLY until is stops coming up and continue on your way.  When you can get under 2.0 60ft times you'll be ripping pretty good.  It takes some practice and probably a clutch to get into the 1.7's with a stock height street bike.

well i've only had the bike for three weeks so far, so i was very slow to launch hard.  a friend of mine that was there said to just treat it like a red light then nail it.  he was turnin 115-120 on a '06 gsxr 1000 with just a slip on.  i'm goin back next weekend, but in the car, my gf got all freaked out over runnin the bike.  but in a few weeks i'm takin it again.  i'll let ya know how it goes next time.

wow you suck at teh launch! bringing that down 4/10 of a sec to a 2.2 would STILL be slow. good luck on your launches. like someone posted before me bring the rpm's up to 8 grand or so and slip the clutch without bringing the wheel up. keep feeding it gas as you release the clutch more and more.
