Popped my first wheele tonight. 20mph in 2nd gear. I think my biggest problem is when I'm just about to dump the clutch I lean foward. Got in a few successful wheeles not big but it gave me a hard-on.

yeah that is a problem a lot of noobs have, my buddy always leans forward. I tried explaining to him that you are trying to get the front wheel up, why are you leaning on it??? thats cool though keep practicing you will only get better.... later

yeah that sounds like alot of revving. I still sometimes lean into it. it's just instincts taking over.

ORIGINAL: Nauree I think my biggest problem is when I'm just about to dump the clutch I lean foward. it's just instinct, i used to do the same thing without realizing it. it just takes time and practice to get over that feeling. i remember the first time i REALLY did a wheelie, i thought i was about to fall off the back of the bike, when i set it back down my heart was pounding, but after several more times of doing it, it just becomes second nature. quote:

it will depend on how your bike is geared. it's more about what RPM you're at than what speed you're going. on my 929 with stock gearing, i do 1st gear wheelies at about 30-35 mph. i just got the bike though and plan to change the sprockets out within the next month or two.

first gear 15-25, second gear 30-45 (standing up) I'm not very good at them yet.
