I'd ride one but they are just too heavy for a small guy like me. My dad has a nice Honda Shadow 1100 and I still havent ridin it. Guess I need to grow some balls and jump on it.

Nope I would love one of those exact bikes! I was actually looking around for one of those before I bought me cbr. Also as far as the harley bashing goes I like those as well along with pretty much every bike... will probably one day own a cbr along with a metric cruiser, harley (really like the 1400 dynas as well as the new v-rods) and an on/off road bike I LIKE THEM ALL!!!

I have respect for harleys but they're just not for me. Don't get it. Also, the fact that I could never bring myself to pay that much for a bike probably has something to do with it.

The one I was going to get looked exactly like this one. The only thing I would consider changing about that bike is the wheels. Other than that.....Perfect! I've been looking for deals, but I doubt I'd be able to find one for $2500 again. Fu#ker!

It's nice to appreciate a lot of different bikes.

I startd out on a cruiser, 2004 Honda Shadow Aero with shaft drive and 35 bhp. I knew about a week after I got it I needed more. I drove it all through the Ozarks following my dad's 2002 Ducati ST4S and drove across Oklahoma a few times with it. I pretty much ran it ragged. But as soon as I got set up here in Arizona I traded it for my current bike. The only way I would ever get another cruiser is if it would somehow get my family involved in my motorcycling passion. My wife never did get on the back of my Aero, but perhaps if I got a cruiser some day with the backrest and all the creature comforts for 2-up riding, I might get her involved. It would not be a performance cruiser like the magna though. Basically a family wagon bike. It would never be my main machine, either. Just about the only cruiser I am impressed with is the V-Rod. Specifically the 2005-2006 Street Rod variant. A friend of mine had a Magna for a long time and I never envied him once. Well, he wrecked that bike and went out and got himself one of the last Street Rods out there. It is a V-Rod with middle-arranged foot controls and a slightly forward canted upper body riding position, with a steeper rake than anyt other harley. He let me ride it around and I was INCREDIBLY impressed with how it handled, cornered, and bolted off the line. That thing is a sport bike in cruiser disguise. Other than that, though, I just can't be impressed with cruisers.

He is nine years older than me. I think, I was about 11 or 12 when he got it. It was bad ass at the time but, if memory serves me correctly it got a bad reputation for poor oiling performance in the heads and bad camshaft wear. And the Vmax was brought out to kill off the V65 but Honda took it out of production. Right after the Vmax showed up. I have heard several times that is the reason the Vmax never got any upgrades, and the damn V 65 actually set a Guinness world record in its day great bike Honda should have worked out their poor quality steel problems and lubrication problems and kept it around, would like to see a new bike built with a updated 1100 V four or bigger

I remember that commercial. In 1983 I rode a V-65 Magna in a commercial for Honda of Canada, that was shot outside Phoenix, but was nowhere near a radical as Honda's USA spot. Any of our Canadian friends remember my spot or have access to it? The mid 80's Honda V-4's did have some reported problems getting oil to the rear cams, although there are still enough of them around to suggest they weren't all so afflicted. As to the Guiness records, the Magna was listed as the worlds fastest production motorcycle for 3 or 4 years. It was kind of a big lie though. Guiness listed it's top speed at, if I remember, 173 mph. Problem was that while it was geared for that speed, it couldn't pull redline in 6th (overdrive) and probably maxed out around 145 or 150. I had an 85 V-65 Sabre, introduced in '84, which was geared for 177 (couldn't pull it) but it didn't knock the Magna out of Guiness.

Man, I have like a million questions , do you think that the shaft drive was a fact it is top speed capability. Do you think chain drive would've actually put the bike, where it should have been accorded to Guinness was the Sabre and the magna the only chassis that the 1100 V 65 was ever drop in by the factory. The main reason I'm wondering is one of the very first sports bikes I own was the VFR interceptor and quickly realized its kinship to V 45 series and always wish they had built V 65 version of the interceptor with big cams. Larger carburetors or fuel injection. Now that would have been a bike for the 90s and today
