Well on Tuesday NOV 2, I am attending a trackday at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. I have not done a trackday there since '95 and the turn 10-11 was under construction. We had to take a detour through the paddock back then. So I have never done a trackday and been able to use the intended course completely. I will keep all of you informed of how it goes.
I have done a parade lap every year there during the World Superbike Races but that is at 50 m.p.h. and with everything from scooters, pocket bikes ,and Goldwings, you name it..on the track at the same time. I did get some clear stretches at times and I hooked a awesome wheelie coming out of turn 3 all the way to turn 4 with a passenger on my FZR1000 in '96!! It was so smooth and easy on that bike. We could have went further but ran out of track, so I put it down so we could make the turn. I flicked it in at turn 4 and we were dragging the footpegs and the leading edge of the exhaust cannister ( they didnt have very good clearance for the pipe on those FZR's) She was laughing out loud in her helmet!! She was the one that begged me to do a wheelie!! The parade laps start at turn 5..they open the gate and then you do the parade lap and exit back at turn 5.
For those of you unfamilar with the track layout here is a link to the track map

and a link to a video lap of the track

I am looking forward to it and if I get some pictures I will post them.

Wow, that is awseome man. You definatly need to get some good pics of you out there. I'm hoping to get my 600F3 up and running soon. I want to try and do a track day by next summer at our local track. Thats what my goal is anyways. Good luck and keep us informed how it goes.

Ok..I went to the trackday and had a bunch of fun. I decided to go out in the beginners sessions at first since I havent been on that track for a trackday in almost 10 years. I rented a lap timer to guage where I was as far as lap times..I am definately in the middle ground for the intermediates.
My best lap was a 1:57.6 and I had a string of consistant 1:58-2:00 depending on traffic
