I saw on the net somewhere today that Honda is putting a lot of work into this new bike thats an automatic!!!!! Looks funny but I am sure that people will buy it regardless. Here's a little info for ya. Honda Previews 680cc Automatic-Transmission Motorcycle at Tokyo Motor Show 680cc Honda DN-01 Tokyo Motor Show automatic-transmission concept motorcycle is headed for production.Honda's next generation of automatic transmissions for motorcycles will greet the world in the 680cc V-twin. Honda's Tokyo Motor Show booth will include a new 680cc automtatic-transmission motorcycle that Honda says will be put into production. The DN-01 is powered by a 680cc V-twin, and uses a hydraulic mechanical continuously variable automatic transmission with two automatic modes and a manual six-speed. Shifting is accomplished using handlebar buttons. Honda says the automatic shifts smoothly enough to avoid possible traction problems while cornering. A lock-up mechnaism improves efficiency and fuel economy. The motorcycle's designation indicates that it is the first model developed in Honda's DN (Dream New) program. http://motorcyclistonline.com/newsandupdates/dn01/ Thumbnail Image

Yea Yamaha Has already got this on the new FJR1300AE. There is no clutch it is all, it is controlled by buttons on the handlebars. But for some reason i think automatic trans on a motorcycle kinda defeats the purpose of having a motorcycle. thats just me though

Automatic bikes huh? Just means more people that don't know how to ride will attempt it. Just plain dangerous.

its like buying a sports car with an automatic...just plain wrong...they shoould stick to sedans and auto bike riders can stick to scooters. no offense to anyone with an auto sports car, sedan, or scooter as you are a member on the forum which is a step in the right direction..and possibly own a cbr which voids all other not so awesome means of transportation...

the r6 has honestly been my long time favorite bike...when i first wanted a bike i wanted a bone stock blue r6...it got over bought and cliche'd ...but i still liked it...glad i got my cbr tho... me and a friend from school were just talking last night as to what we would get if we bought another bike..he's got a suzuki sv650 and i got my 600f4...slightly different bikers mainly just due to vtwin vs inline4.... but we were noticing the amount of naked bikes coming out...kawi's got a bunch...honestly im just not a fan of naked street bikes, unless its caged up for stunting practice... still not sure what i'd get if i got a new bike... like the r6...not a big fan of the stubby exhaust... like the larger engine new model hondas.. .. i guess im just very opinionated when it comes to bike looks.... i'll even go as far as to say i dont prefer center up exhasuts... they sure do look good from the back but i like the flashy can on the side!! personal pref's i suppose. to each his own
