I've heard that some manufactures will check it out for you.  Give them a call and see what they say.  Like some of the other here, better to be safe then sorry.  I've a guy that works at the air terminal and he'll let you run your helmet through the x-ray machine.  If the helmet has a crack in it you can actually see it.

the air port is a good idea, a hospital would prolly do it to but they would more than likely charge you...



and yea i'm glad i send it out, my insurance is buying the new one so it's not that big of a deal
