I just got my licence for a bike and took the course already so I'm comfortable on a bike except for mine shifting gears is really jerky on mine and I don't like it. I'm doing everything my instructor taught me and I'm still having problems I'm starting to get really uncomfortable on it. I'm a really lite feamale at 105 pounds soaking wet and about 5'6 so I'm not short but nothing feels comfortable on the bike I'm beginning to hate where the gear shifter is because I have to put my foot straight down to go under the shifter I get my revs up like I'm suppose to and roll off the throttle to shift gears and its just really jerky when I let go of the clutch on the course bikes which are heavier then mine everything was really smooth so I know I'm doing what I'm suppose to but it just doesn't feel right or comfortable. Can someone help me to feel more comfortable because right now I'm thinking of selling it if things don't work out soon.

Be patient and face your fears. Most female riders I know are scared to death the first year or two. It is perfectly natural. Take the back roads and stay off the freeway for a while. When your next to an 18 wheeler they tend to suck you in. I would strongly reccomend staying off the freeway with a 125. That is a very small and light bike. Get comfortable riding before you get on the main drag.Try to get out with a group of friends or find out where everyone meets up in your area.That is a good way to meet new people who ride and it makes riding a little more comfortable. The jerking you feel is the way you are shifting. You have not developed the coordination you need just yet. You have to work on your timing of pulling in your clutch in and out and shifting properly. It will come to you in time. Don't give up. I felt the same way when I started riding 7 years ago. Now it is my passion in life. I am addicted to motorcycles. Good luck
