Hey i just picked up a 1991 cbr f2 and wanted to know what tails could be fitted on the bike?? even just the plastics? I hate the ugly stock tail and was wondering if neone knows wat else would fit. Maybe f4 tail??

The sky is the limit. You can make anything fit if you want it to. The only problem with an F2 is that the subframe is welded onto the frame unlike newer bikes where the subframe is bolted on. The easiet way to change a tail section is to change the whole subframe that way the plastics are assured to fit right. What this means is you would more than likely have to cut and weld on your frame.

I understand that the subframe is welded to the frame, but i was just thinking of i could slip over like the f4 tail or something more modern. I am gonna try not to go as far as cutting and welding, but if i have to i might do it. I know with all the time and money in the world you can do anything, but i am looking for something easy and simple first because it is then again a stunt bike.

thanks for the feedback

I found a guy that has complete f4i plastics, headlights, and tail section (without modding the subframe) all on his f2. i think i am going to put on the f4i tail just to make it look mean.

If you wanna see pics ... bikepics.com , click by model on the left colum, click honda, go to f2, 1991, and its on page 9,10, and 11.

I am sure some of you may enjoy this conversion

Why wouldnt you just buy an F4i instead? He had to cut the frame. I never minded the tail on the F2 i had. I would have reformed the front end to get rid of the blunt nose before i worried about the tail though. I have seen an R6 tail and a gsxr 750 tial on a 900RR. I think those pictures of it are also on bikepics.

Because i already have an f4i :) ! So the f2 i bought is a stunt bike and i wanna change up the tail because i find the f2 tail damn ugly!! Also the front end is not going to be one anyways. Don;t ask my why i care so much about the tail because after all it is a stunt bike, but i want it to have some cosmetics to it.

i have found my answers anyways, you don;t need to cut the tail at all for the f4i fairing to fit. If you don;t want to contribute to the forum postively why would you post a reply such as that.

I like the way the f4i tail exposes more of the frame- looks badass. Just make sure you prep and paint the rear subframe cause if you don't, the bike will look like azz...
