everything looks great! keep us up to speed.
i had those grips before and they kinda starting ripping apart after a while. im not sure what company those grips were from since they came with the bike but after a year that were all torn up.

I agree, softer grips maybe more comfortable but you can go thru them rather quickly. But then again at ten bucks a pop if they make a big difference I guess its worth it.

i def think its looks a lot better, cleaner without all the stickers. i removed the stickers on the tail section a long time ago. i think i will remove them in the front after seeing your pic. def looks nice!

@tara

yeah i definitely feel it was a bit too "busy" with all the stickers...i mean some graphics are good...to break up a paint job (not a huge fan of just solid colors)....but all the honda, f4i stickers were annoying....once they were off, it looked a lot better...just make sure to grab the goo-gone, on the front, the stickers were worse to get off for some reason....

@alekinci

you know i heard that too, but i figure the same thing as shawny, it's pretty cheap and simple to replace...i mean it really took all of 5 minutes to swap out...and i can say, although i haven't ridden it yet (hopefully this week), they are a ton softer....i would gladly swap them out year over year for just the aesthetics...i mean i really like the look they give off...i know it sounds stupid...but there is something about grips....when people look at your bike, everyone notices your handlebars...lol....but even more so for the comfort...

i will keep you updated though on how they last...if they die early...maybe i try stiffer ones next time...either way....they are better then the stock ones and for $10...you can't go wrong!

thanks for the comments though, ALWAYS appreciated...

i am hoping this thread becomes a good place to check up and learn random things about mods...as it seems like i am doing a lot (maybe i'm not ???) haha....

Hey fingers, did you do a led kit yet? I know you were talking about it a while ago but I havent heard anything. I'm thinking about doing one myself, I figured we could share some ideas.

funny you should mention that...i am hopefully gonna be re-filling my brakes and everything today or tomorrow so it's ridable and going to my buddy's garage on saturday to do the install....i have already installed the LED license plate bolts and also installed a wireless remote controller in the bike to control the LEDs...pretty much all i ahve to do is determine LED placement and run wires to the control box...

so in a few words...sort-of...lol....what are you doing with it?

Alright...for those of you keeping track

this weekend...here's the plan....of which i KNOW some will get done....

#1 take pictures - i KNOW my buddy is coming over and he's bringing his good camera...and I will be taking the pictures so i should have a ton to show what has actually been done...

#2 install my vortex frame sliders

#3 test out the new ss lines since the brakes will finally be bled

#4 install my APE CCT

#5 install the rest of the LED bodylighting

the main priority is pictures (which should be fast) and the LED bodylighting....but that is dependent upon if i can fit my bike in a small space that is capable of turning out the lights...so we'll see....worst case scenario, everything gets done EXCEPT the LED lighting....but we'll see...

stay tuned

Ah nothing too crazy. I just want to light up the slots in the side fairings, the ground underneath, and the swingarm area. I'll probably go with red. You got a remote? Where did you get that?

yeah i am doing pretty much the same...not the ground though...just the engine bay and perhaps the tail a little bit by the swingarm....i have it mapped out, just have to find the placement to get the look i want.....

as for the remote...ahhh...this was a wonderful little find that i found on another forum....you can get them at autozone...it's a little box that is essentially four relays (you can control four devices)...you wire the power to it and the the light box (where all the light connections come from) to it and you get a remote like a remote door unlock control and that's it...instant remote lights...here it is...

http://www.autozone.com/selectedZip,60608/initialAction,accessoryProductDetail/initialR,NONAPP2952/shopping/selectZip.htm

I'll take pics of it...took me awhile to sort of pre-wire it all...but i have it all ready to go hooked into two molex connectors for the ground and power and then stuffed into the tail section on the side (to not affect what little space i have) connected to the battery....it's then ziptied so it doesn't move...works perfect...works like a charm too....

The linkity link doesn't work anymore - by the way great posts, certainly one of my favorites so to date :-)

I still haven't touched my bone stock 06 f4i (spent money on hemi ram 1500 pick up truck / black widow ramp / baxley sport chock ~ $30k worth of motorcycle accessories...) but I have a feeling once the snow thaws next spring and the bike comes out of storage I'll be doing many of the same things you have done.

I'm somewhat of a ricer at heart - started my car life owning a few RX-7's if that explains anything - so I'm interested in visual mods such as LED's / ground effects. Keep up the great work and get us some more pictures!!
