How far can you go
I was… am considering taking my 1000rr from MA to NC 800+ mi. I would like to do it in one day so as not to miss the extra work. I am going to have a new seat and a set of Heli bars on. Do you guys think it can be done without wasting away? or should I take the RX-8

I've rode from Va Beach to Ohio (just under 500 miles) with no problems. Rode to TN for the dragon and took back roads so I have no clue how long it was... but we rode for about ten hours with one 30 minute stop for lunch. You will be tired, but you can do it.
