Okay, so I am going to be installing my LED body lighting kit this weekend after my other reassembly (check my sig). I am posting this now because I want to give people a chance to request any certain specific steps they want me to document. I don't like doing crazy detailed how-to's as they are incredibly tedious and honestly, most of us are inclined enough to do these mods. But, if you want specific steps, I will show them.

That being said, I purchased my LED kit from www.streetglow.com and specifically this set http://streetglow.com/site/motorcycle.motorcyclekit.php

However, it does NOT come with much wiring and does not come with an adequate wiring block in my opinion. Further, I want a remote to control it, not merely a switch. So I am buying a new wiring block (cheapy from Radioshack) and getting a four-way remote from Autozone. Seeing as I don't want to figure out fuses, I am going to wire the block they gave me (as I assume it is fused) in conjunction with my block and remote.

Here is my quick question for all of you....do you want me to document how I wire this part up? If so, can I just show you how it's set up and maybe do a wiring diagram? You don't really need to see me strip wires and whatnot do you? Anyways let me know as I plan on prepping everything before I actually start placing and mounting the LEDs.

Unlike other How-To', I am going to encourage questions now...BEFORE I start so I can make sure to display everything anyone may want to see. I will edit THIS post though so the How-To will be first when anyone comes to view this thread.

Thanks all, how-to should be up by early next week, but get your questions in now as wiring begins tomorrow (maybe tonight ) and placement begins on Saturday 9/22/07.

Take care!

Alright...I am sorry I haven't done much with this yet, but unfortunately I got sick this weekend. As a result, I didn't get the lights done, I only got my powdered stuff on the bike. What I did do was wire up the wireless remote and mount it. as well as put in the license plate bolts. Seeing as the wiring took a couple different forms as I was trying to do it, it's probably good I didn't photo it. What I will do is post a pic of the wireless system that I used. Try to draw up a diagram of how I wired it and then take some photos of it mounted. Really, once I do that, the mounting of the LEDs should be quite easy. So stay tuned and I will get the diagram up shortly, hopefully!

I have a set of Electro podz and have had no problem with them.... had them in since march and its just a matter of installing them right... I did something different and put the bar on the lower fairing with the lights coming through the plastics.... would not recommend this to everyone and all colors but I went with UV Purple.. have had a lot of good comments on how it looks.

I have that same kit but in yellow.  I hooked it up to one of those fat batteries that go in outdoor lanterns and the leds were not too bright.  Is it just because its through a weaker battery?  Can you post your setup of where u put which light head?  Wiring diagram would be helpful too!!

Sorry about the thread jack....I couldn't resist....lol.
Make sure you take them at dusk, and slow the shutter speed down. And by all means......use a tri-pod.

Hey Kid...why you gettin on me...lol....

i know...i have to do it...the problem with the LED write up is i am not done....the condo garage i am in, the lights don't ever turn off so there isn't a dark place to finish the install...the first half that i did...i wheeled my bike into a hallway where some storage cages are just to get it dark enough to work on the LEDs...but it was TIGHT! i don't know if i want to do that again....same reason why i haven't taken pictures...too light in my garage...oh and i can't go outside...right now is 30 mph winds, snowing sideways...and going to get into the teens by this afternoon...soooooo...either inside or nothing at this point...haha...

i will promise to try and write up something though...
