I hope you get better soon. Salty water mixture should help you. Where I grew up was a seaside. We used to go in the sea when we have scars or burns. It helped me a lot when I was a kid. I remember using salt when my scars were bleeding. Salt absorbs the blood and stops bleeding. Tobacco is also effective for stopping bleeding. Well those are things came up my mind and I wanted to share them if anyone ever needs it. I am also glad that I finally got myself a leather jacket. I am adding steering damper to my to-buy list after reading this story. Thank you for sharing and I hope you get well soon my friend.

Get well soon Woody! .. Sorry to hear about this unfortunately accident! Get better and ride again! I'm thoroughly glad that I've invest in gear initially with my bike. Looking to go with a full leather suit for winter. Glad you're still with us.

Yah all these accidents are freaky recently. I had a close call today when I locked up my rear tire going into a turn way to hot.  Let's all park our bikes til next season to save them any pain! ..j/k

Thanks for following up on that advise Juggernaut. I think I'll still hold off though. I have a little OCD in me and already have a daily routine nailed down that I'm used to now. It's been 96 hours+ since the wreck and the road rash is about 85% scabbed over on most areas. The area that got it worst was my right side shoulder blade and a little below. I'd say that's about 25% scabbed over. Hopefully by Friday (a full week and two days after the wreck) I'll be able to kick the bandages at night. We'll see.

Thanks again for the hopeful wishes and my thoughts are with all you guys out there who are still fortunate enough to ride. Don't ruin that privelage!

The weather's getting milder in most areas too, asphalt is at colder temps, rubber is at colder temps. Cold rubber + cold asphalt = less traction
I know we all know this, just remember that though when scooting through the turns! If you have bad memory, then you better be in full gear.

Daym Woody! It great to see that you are still surfing the forums. Seems like things could have been a lot worse than they are. That fourth pics is priceless, bike torn up with you and a crutch in the corner. The bike can be replaced and at least you are alive and can feel your legs. I think that my fear of being paralized out weighs dieing sometimes. Theres riders that have gone down, and theres riders that are going down...welcome to the club. Just keep popping the meds and take it easy.

Damn Woody!  Just read this post, sorry to hear about the wreck.  Glad to see you're up and about...kinda sorta.  I kid you not, the hairs on the back of my neck literally stood up when I saw the pic of your back.
You are lucky to have gf there to help you out....much props to her.   Good to hear insurance is helping out.
    Take care of yo self!

Damn! Sorry to hear. Just to think I was ready to do the same thing yesterday while I was hittin the back roads. And it's because of stories like this I was like wait a minute I'm not gonna pass, something bad could happen (Any other given day I wouldn't have thought twice). So I just waited it out till they turned off and the road opened up to me safely. Really sorry again you went down. Most important...your alive. Wish you a speedy recovery and hope you'll be back on 2 wheels soon.

Holy Crap!! That is a wild story. The best part is you will walk again and didn't suffer any injuries that won't heal with time. Really sorry about the crash but you are sooooo lucky. You know, shit happens and most of us have been down. I've made some bad choices and paid for them myself. I hope you heal quickly bro.

Ruthless, it's great to have reassurance there's riders out there consciously making wise choices. Good for you man. And the best part is that those cars turned off the road anyway. I can't help but think how different life would be right now if I would've done the same thing you did. Oh well, I believe most things happen for a reason and if this had to happen for me to see things under a different light, then it deff worked!
