At least there's a decent thread in the 900 section.

Any hints on re-tightening the lock-nut doohickey on the right side of the swingarm pivot bolt? I'm down to dremeling out a matching profile on a deep socket but I haven't tried it yet. Special tools from Honda...

haha, thats exactly what I did.... cannabalized an old craftsman socket, that stupid honda wrench is like 60 bones!

^^ Funny! He probably does, tears it down to clean it like a Marine with an M-16. I kind of just did that, had it down to just frame and motor. I put 97 forks (rebound damping!) on her, a 97 swingarm and a bunch of other stuff. Still no sliders...

I've stripped mine twice, once when I bought it to fix some damage and get a look at everything and then when I damaged it to fix more damage. Oh and to put on the sliders (so as not to get off track again)

hahaha , it was stripped down for powdwercoat, was a ton of work for a damn black frame!........and....sliders ya

I went down with delrin sliders and they really saved the bike a ton of damage but the slider bent the hanger bolt back pretty bad. I was able to remove it though. I'm lucky it didn't shear off. After that I got a Powers cage, same one halfwayd has, but black. If you want more protection than sliders, but still want to do trackdays, look into race rails.

Powers website says they are "CSS and WERA approved!"

(They didn't have a pic of them on a 900 in their gallery so I used the 600RR, they do make them for 900's though)

I'm no expert but from the looks of them you'd still have to cut through the fairing to get to the frame/enginge mount. the other end would be on the frame where there is no fairing.
