The gut got what he deserved, but the cop DID jump on the hood a good second or two before the car took off. The was completely dumb of the cop. He could have easily bashed the driver side glass out and grabbed the guy or even shot him there. There is no reason for him to jump on the hood. Now if you was in front of the car (he wasnt, he walked in front of the car) and the guy took off, then yes I'd jump on the hood and start shooting too.

im not going to make any judgements on the cops deciscions because i wasnt there... but if you click on the video an article comes up about it and it says that three officers that fired shots were put on administrative leave because of this

That is standard policy for officers who discharge their weapons just about anywhere. It happens so that their actions may be investigated.
