hey guys i just have a quick question about buying bike.  Do you know when is the time to buy bike for cheap.  I mean when is not bike season?  i know bike seaason is around april or may... but i have no idea when it is not a bike season... thank you

Depends where you are at   I am in Chicago and bike prices are falling like an old ladies _______, (sorry).  If you have the spot for it the best time to buy is the end of the season people dop not want to put them in storage.  In the spring prices will be higher because we are all iching to get in the wind.

If you don't mine just looking at the bike for a little while I would buy it around Jan or Feb.

well since SD is like sac you can ride most of the time all year long.. sure there might be a week or two where it rains for a few days but thats about it ... the prices here tend to stay high but usually around nov, dec or jan  is when you can find good prices because people need money [:)]

I'm in central Cali, there's no such thing as cheap bikes, but some times good deals just pop up, doesnt really seem to matter if it's winter or summer, you just got to be ready to jump on it, because if you say well I'll have the cash tomorrow, there's almost allways someone who's got it today. 

Also if your buying new, often the best deals is on a last years model , for example, if teh 08's are hitting the floors, try to get a good deal on an 07, because once the 08's are out, that 07 starts losing value.

Or buy it in Oregon and truck it down in late fall/winter... if you're hitting the coastal highway anyway... just make sure you make a good buy!

Absolutely not!  I disagree.  Prices spike just a hair as christmas gifts get purchased.  I talked to a friend at a local dealer and he says October and November are bad months, but things spike again for Christmas.  January is usually a terrible time to be selling a motorcycle.

If you're buying used.  There's always plenty of folks needing to byy more toys for the girls and boys.

ou will find deals all year long.. sometimes though you have to be willing to travel for it.. im not saying outta state (ofcurse you can find some awesome deals doing this) but rather just hours away. keep an eye out and broaden your range of where you look. also dont be afraid to pass on a deal , sometimes a better deal is just a day away

The reality is, there really is no specific time when good deals appear. However, i'll say that you'll see more of them when it's been real cold and wet out for a long time.
The best thing to do if you're buying used is to watch Craigslist. Narrow down your search to a specific bike. Track these same model bikes for a month or two. Longer is better. In time, you'll see the range of prices for this bike and when you see a good deal it'll stand out in your mind. You'll also see trends in pricing b/c sellers of this specific bike price their ride according to the prices of everybody elses. When a few of them go down in price, this tends to make new sellers go down in price too.
For example, 929's in the Bay Area have been real low priced in the last few weeks. That's one of the ways to get a deal!

thanks for all ur adives guys.. i really appreciated it... thinking of getting an 01 or 02 cbr 600... hopefully i can get it... last a guy from my school offered his 02 for 4000 and i didnot get it and it was gone...heheh i must not hesitate next time ...
